“Nice property....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2011

First time visiting Boone, NC from the Raleigh area. It was the week before Christmas so we were perhaps more $ conscious than we may have been had we been had we been visiting at another time of year. We chose this hotel for the price, location and the fact that it was relatively new. We were happily surprise when we entered the lobby and there was a lovely stone fireplace, a decorated Christmas tree in the lobby. The room's were very nicely decorated, granite bathrooms, lovely furnishings. The rooms could have been a little larger and we did have a problem with getting the showers to run hot, but the staff was very accommodating and took care of the problem quickly. The breakfast room was pleasant and menu ample. I would definitely go back to this hotel, and the allowed pets, clearly a plus!

We just stayed at the Inn. The people running the Inn were extremely friendly and service minded. The room was your typical clean motel room and the breakfast was just as typical carb breakfast.

The room 119 was next to the washer-dryer room and the heat came thru the walls requiring AC to run while the outside temps were below freezing. The dryer noise and vibration started at 6 am. Not my idea of a good night sleep. The shower alternated between hot and cold without touching the controls.

When we brought it to their attention they reduce the cost by $15 but most folks would have preferred a quiet cool night sleep. The Inn's location is risky to exit the highway into the Inn's parking lot.

Room Tip: Just don't get room 119 near the washer dryer room.

We were passing through the general area on the Parkway and just picked this place out off our Ford Sync GPS and made our reservation on the "fly" (but then our GPS didn't want to take us to the right place!)

We found the accommodations to be satisfactory for the price. The hotel seems fairly new or recently renovated, so was in pretty good shape from what I could tell. (The Sleep Inn just across the entrance way looked to be pretty new as well.)

Our room was clean and tidy and the king bed had a memory-foam type mattress, which was quite comfortable, and was probably the best thing about the place. The Wi-Fi was free, and after logging in, was quick to respond--and we searched out a great restaurant. (Coyote Kitchen--Quite good and different than anything I've had in a long time.)

The breakfast was fairly typical of this type of lodging, with the usual assortment of pastries, muffins, fresh waffles, cereals, bananas and apples, and generic (weak) coffee. I've had better and I've also seen worse. There was enough to get the job done, at least...

Our little family stayed here for 3 nights for a weekend business trip. Overall the room was nice and clean. Our room came with nice amenities including the flat screen television and a heart-style jacuzzi tub in the living area. However, since we were traveling with our little toddler, the tub presented some dangers including sharp corners that we had to be vigilant about when she was running around. So we did not use the jacuzzi.

However the heated pool in the hotel was nice and the continental breakfast was a decent spread given that it is free. One of the cons of the hotel is that it is very easy to hear the people above, below and next door to you. In fact, we even received a complaint from the front desk from the neighbor below us (at 6:30 in the evening!) about our toddler running in the room!

Additionally, the front desk staff was extremely accommodating. Our refrigerator's internal temperature control was missing and the air was not cool enough for our baby's food and milk. We alerted the front desk and the maintenance man promptly came and fixed the issue for us. Additionally the people above our room had flooded their jacuzzi tub causing our ceiling to leak water, and again, the maintenance and clean up staff were very prompt in dealing with the issue.

Let me say that first of all, there are things at this hotel I would give 5 stars and others I would give 3 stars. We have stayed at this LaQuinta several times. We were there last night and unfortunately we were given the room with a heart shaped tub in the room!! We had not requested this room and it was very disturbing as one of the earlier posts as stated, there were sharp edges on the tub and the ceramic tile around the tub was cold on the feet. I felt like we should of be given a discount since we were put in this particular room. Strange room set up. The positives are they are are a pet friendly hotel - we had our two dogs with us. They generally put us on the first floor near the exit door. My other negative comment is that I find the night time front office staff somewhat unprofessional. Need some more mature workers. I would stay here again - they accept dogs, however, if you don't have pets, I would probably choose another property in Boone.

We stayed the weekend at the La Quinta in Boone for an outdoor adventure family trip. Chose the La Quinta because they accomodate pets. Facility was beautiful. Well appointed. Bed was fantastically comfortable for a hotel in this range. Service was very good. Good recommendations for restaurants off the beaten path.
The continental breakfast was a big disappointment. Fair coffee, minimal choices, no fruit. Not enough to start the day.
We would stay here again, just prepare to eat breakfast elsewhere.
