I've had great service and great food at Michelin Star restaurants and this one ranks right up there with the best of them. The people in the kitchen deserve recognition for such a finely prepared and presented meal. If they haven't already, I am sure they will begin to show up on various rating agency's radar!
And the staff? From the moment you walk in, they go to work to be sure you are relaxed and your visit is all that you are expecting. And it does not feel rehearsed as I have seen at some other fine dining establishments...they genuinely want you to have a relaxed and enjoyable evening....which I am quite sure you will have here.
For appetizers, I had Sashimi, spouse had a special NC apple salad, and daughter had the Prawn. For our main course, I had the special Oyster encrusted Lamb, wife had the porkchop, and daughter had the scallop special. Then we topped it all off with 3 deserts.....the "chocolate earth" for me, bananna pudding for my spouse (with homemade vanilla wafers), and daughter had strawberry and macadamia nut pie with green apple basil ice cream. It was all delicious.
Thank you to Andy, Natalie, Jonathan (tell kevin bacon hello :)), Sandy, and Virginia for a really nice evening.
The bill (before wine and tip...which can change from guest to guest) would have been around $200....well worth it. Go if you have the chance and I'm sure you'll meet some of the nicest people you've met and eat some of the finest food available in the NC Mountains!
