“Unassuming Exterior - Fantastic Inside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011 via mobile

We've been coming to. Lowing Rock for years and never went to Bistro Roco be ause it didn't look that inviting on the exterior. This trip we saw loofa of cars outside so we decided to give it a visit. Glad we did! Food and Service were both excellent and it had a really nice interior decor.

“Very Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2011

This upscale bistro is a recommended choice for dining in Blowing Rock, NC. The menu is extremely creative and well thought out. The interior is a festival of beautiful warm wood.

My table had a variety of items including a really excellent veggie burger and intriguing flatbread pizzas. The menu is quite varied with multiple items for every taste it seemed. The prices seemed very reasonable, particularly when compared to other upscale restaurants in the town. Good wine list.

The one downside was the service on the occasion we visited. The waiter was quite friendly and amiable, but most of the banter seemed a bit stuffy and prepared rather than natural. We had to wait far too long before our orders were taken and the food took far too long to arrive. Clearly, this is not an issue that can't be easily remedied by the management.

“We just keep trying”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2011 via mobile

We are seasonal residents of blowing rock and cannot deny the food and atmosphere are our favorites, but when on a random Sunday night, you have to wait over an hour for a hamburger, it's hard to not be frustrated. This has happened Repeatedly and we find ourselves wondering when to give up. Bistro Roca please staff your restaurant to accommodate your growing awareness and reputation, or we may be forced to go elsewhere.

“Great Service, Excellent Food, Relaxing Atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2011

The owner of the Homestead Inn in Blowing Rock recommended Bistro Roca to us. We went for Sunday dinner. We chose to eat on the patio. The atmosphere was relaxing and casual. Our server was most helpful and attentive. We had the fig appetizer - out of this world! House made chips with blue cheese - best we have ever had. Cheeseburger with added bacon and crispy onions - large burger, 1/2 pound. The person that recommended the Bistro told us that they had the best cheeseburgers in town - and we believe it! This seems to be a place frequented by locals - always a good sign. It is a little off the beaten tourist path - which is very nice - yet, within walking distance of town! We walked there from Homestead Inn. Broyhill Park is near the Bistro. Afterward, we took a stroll around the lake before heading back to the Inn.

“Superb food in a relaxed cozy atmosphere!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2011

The Bistro Roca in Blowing Rock is not to be missed! The food is excellent and creatively presented. We have found the service to be outstanding on our visits there. They have a broad selection of wines and feature a full-service bar. We highly recommend starting your dining experience off with a small serving of both the mussels and calimari appetizers. Check with your server for specials of the day. Bistro Roca prides itself on it's use of fresh local ingredients. They have a cozy atmosphere with a variety of seating options. Clean casual dress is welcomed. along with coat & tie. Patrons can receive full service dining at the bar and also in their outdoor screened porch (when weather permits.) The porch features a view of evergreen trees and the sounds of the creek below. Reservations are recommended for Friday and Saturday nights in order to avoid lengthy waits for seating.
