“What a Find!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2012

We had the pleasure of staying here from November 30-December 2 and it was a treasure waiting to be found. We had room 305 and the view was spectacular. The room was very clean and warmed up quickly when we turned on the heater. Rhonda was gracious and gave us several recommendations of places to eat in Blowing Rock. The breakfast buffet was excellent, so many choices to meet most people's needs/wants. It was a homey atmosphere and part of me wanted to curl up on the couch under the soft blankets provided and just watch tv or read a book. But there's so much to do and see. Went to the Tangers Outlet and did some Christmas shopping. Went into Blowing Rock and walked the streets checking out all the different stores. Even bought some books at the local library's book sale. Cliff Dwellers Inn is an excellent home base for this area - really felt like we could retreat, catch our breath and head off to another adventure. Highly recommend this Inn - Rhonda & her staff have done amazing work with a place that could have gone totally under. Already booked for this summer when we bring our grandchild with us and go to Tweestie Railroad.

“Great, and different, hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

We stayed here for one night in early November, in room 305. Each room us different. Our room was on the end of the top floor, with a nice view from private deck of the lake and the sunset. Fridge in room. A good breakfast. Helpful owner on site. We will definitely stay here again! A great experience, and fun for a special time away....

Room Tip: Look at the pics of each room on the hotel web site to see what each offers. All are different.

“Can Hardly Wait 'Til Next Time!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

A very much needed four-day weekend was wonderful! We slept late. We ate (more than we needed!) at the continental breakfast buffet. We got good advice on things to do and see (and to avoid.) We got a warm welcome from our hostess, Rhonda, and a slobbery kiss or two from some four-legged friends. We absolutely cannot wait to stay there again and are planning a whole family outing, centered around Cliff Dwellers, as soon as possible.

“A perfect place for a mountain getaway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012 via mobile

I have to say I was extremely impressed from the second we checked in to the day we checked out. Patrick was expecting us and after checking us in offered to get us some ice. The view was gorgeous in the morning, breakfast had a big selection and healthy choices even pumpkin coffee! Seth gave great recommendations on hiking and local places to eat, Foggy Rock being our favorite. The room was spotless and super easy location between historic downtown blowing rock and boone. I honestly dont understand anyone who would rate cliff dwellers anything but 5/5 unless they are being extremely picky or have young children and cant appreciate the inn for what it is. I would recommend this place to anyone coming to the area :)

“Back Again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We've been staying at this hotel everytime we come to Blowing Rock for about twelve years, it was an excellent place with fantastic people running it back when the Burkes owned it.

We found it the first time by pure accident, but made a point in the years following to come back.

It's been through several owners since we first started staying there, so we've had the opportunity to watch it change over time from a really nice quaint place with fantastic owners and then start falling apart with newer owners not taking care of it or it's guest.

We just came back from another stay there and the place looks fantastic, and the new custodians are as friendly and helpful as you will ever see. They have really done a ton of work improving that place inside and out, it looks excellent and is very clean and neat. Awesome job!

Great breakfast too! And thank your son again for his advice on the falls and hikes, we really enjoyed the Linville Falls as well as the others in the memorial park. Didn't see the Brown Mountain lights though, so I guess we have to come back soon... :)

Pool someone said?? in that area I'm not staying inside a motel long enough to use one... when we weren't hiking, shopping or playing tourist on Grandfather Mountain we were riding the Blue Ridge Pkwy looking at all the mountains beauty day and night until it was time to come back and crash..

Thanks for your hospitality!
We will definitely will stay again,
Rob & Tina
