“What a Gem”

A charming bed and breakfast. The innkeepers were welcoming and the inn was totally charming. From the red rocking hairs lining the porch to the theme oriented bedrooms, it was delightful. The inn was immaculately clean and comfortable. The restaurant was not open for dinner on the night we were there but the breakfast was outstanding. Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway and spend the night here - you won't be disappointed!

We called to book a stay for our anniversery. The only room was the attic room. It was fantastic, had a working fireplace, window seats and a large shower (big enough for 2) and a garden tub. I did not mind the stairs to the room. The breakfast was great with many options. The innkeepers were very polite and helpful to us out-of-towners. I don't know about the other rooms, but I highly recommend the attic room.

Wonderful Bed and Breakfast, great staff, and a very nice location. Look foward to coming back in the near future. Highly recommend for couples w/ or w/o kids young and old. Restaurant was wonderfull too, loved the menu and service.

We have been to many great B&B and Inns across the country over the years… but the Red Rocker Inn is not at the high end of the list!

To their credit, breakfast was absolutely delicious and well served .. however .. I was upset that I was subjected to a “morning grace” before the meal. I felt very uncomfortable with this.

They did “upgrade” our room to a somewhat larger (?) room … still very small and shabby. Recognize that this B&B overall, cannot provide a respectably sized room .. just by the nature of the site. Nevertheless, that is no excuse the overall poor conditions that this room provided. Only a queen bed with rubber/foam pillows and a small bathroom with minimal comforts. I have spent a bit more for quite a bit more of comfort and style.

This B&B is historic by it’s age but not by its presentation. Sorry.

We had a great time together as family. My only comments are that the rooms need updating, very 80s. Also, they were not as accomodating to my child as they could have been. We were not "allowed" to use a table in the dining room to eat our dinner because they were serving to customers. We wouldn't want to make the place look bad. Yet, I am paying to stay there..... I did not like having a restaurant in my BnB. Also, the property hostess was young and snotty. She dressed like a teenager. i wouldn't have known she worked there, let alone represented the place. Not professional. The owners seemed tired and overwhelmed. All that said... we liked Black Mountain and the inn overall. We enjoyed ourselves.

Phenomenal B&B with amazing service, hospitality and food. Innkeepers, Doug and Jenny, are the most gracious hosts. Very attentive to guests needs. This B&B is in a league all by itself. Absolute best B&B in the south.

Greatly enjoyed this weekend at Red Rocker Inn, Black mountain is a quaint little country community and we felt right at home. We stayed in the Anniversary room and breakfast is included every morning with anything you can think of. Homemade applebutter, muffins, about 20 things to pick from for breakfast. The Inn has new owners as of this year and they are doing a great job. This was our first b&b and will not be our last. Do not miss the dinner. Prices are great and the food is out of this world. We plan on returning to this cozy home. Very quiet at night, there are no tv's in the room so be prepared to bring a laptop and movies. There is a movie gallery in town if you want to rent instead. Don't miss the desserts either. We did the Biltmore package that included 2 tickets and dinner for two including beverage and dessert and tip. You have to try the BUMPLE PIE, Oh my goodness. I say the best pie we have ever tasted. Blackberrie, strawberrie, rhubarb berry pie and also they had peppermint icecream pie covered in hot fudge. YUM! So they kill you with kindness, very lay'd back, you are left to yourselves through the day to do as you please. They keep a packed frig of water and soda to help yourself whenever you please. The only thing we would possibly change is to update the rooms to higher end furniture and decor, our bed looked like it came from Biglots. But look that aside because this place is worth the 10 minute drive from Asheville. God Bless The Winans formerly from MI now reside in Staley,NC
