“Cute location but so-so food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2014

My husband and I have pretty much stopped coming here because the menu has been exactly the same for years and so much of what is cooked there, like the french fries and green beans, are not fresh at all. For the prices, one would hope to have a nearly completely homemade meal but the sides are often doctored up canned things...even the ketchup seems cheap. We took visiting family members there recently and we were all so overwhelmed that we decided to cook at home for the remainder of their visit in Perquimans. Its a shame because with a few tweaks they could be serving all fresh and homemade country cooking and it would be worth the drive for many.

“Nice Neighborhood Restaurant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2014

This restaurant is in an old 3 story house. Very pretty and unique place. The menu selection is not very large, its just good country cooking. We have eaten there several times, and its always been good. People very friendly, prices good. They also offer an afternoon tea, best to call in advance for that.

“Better cooking at home”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2014

This food is not good. I had the steak, which for $20, I should have received better. Overcooked, dry, flavorless. I am not a gourmet steak cook, but I can do better at home.
There were kids who kept walking by in a circle, probably owners kids hanging out for the night? At any rate, it was very annoying.
Gift shop has a lot of cute items, but everything is over priced.
Cute location is the only plus I have to report, but we most likely won't return.

“Great Country cooking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

This restaurant has quality country cooking. The cafe in the back has a rustic and relaxing atmosphere. The daily specials are very good and priced reasonably. Worth the trip to Belvidere.

“Country cooking and friendly people. Very consistent food.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

I eat here about once a month because there aren't many places to eat out in this area. It is NOT at all gourmet cooking. I do feel for the most part that I can do better at home BUT sometimes the kids want to go and have breakfast. It IS an adorable place to eat however and its got a great gift shop. The meatloaf is a favorite and the burgers are good but the taco salad was pretty bad. I do think its one of the better places to go and have breakfast in the area though.

They also apparently have tea parties for children that you can reserve. I haven't tried that with my kids but the room upstairs where its done looks like a playroom from yesteryear.

The owners are very sweet people though.
