“Go see it in the Fall and Spring”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

Easy to get to, off of I-85. Worth the drive to see all the plants, trees, flowers and shrubbery. Come on down, especially as the seasons change.

“What happened to Daniel Stowe”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Though I have reviewed Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in the past and given them 5's, I am sorry to downgrade the gardens on this review. We visit our children in Charlotte several times a year. I have been to DSBG in every season; however, my favorite time has been at Christmas. It had become a family tradition to view the spectacular lights, see the trains set up, see the greenhouse, and drink yummy hot chocolate before going on home. What a disappointment to all of us this year. The entry fee is quite high, but that never mattered until this year when there seemed to be about 50% of the lights as in prior years. The greenhouse had very few decorations, and the train made a tiny circle compared to years past. Even inside, the mini-train display was a disappointment. It used to meander in all different NC landscapes. At least the hot chocolate was as good as ever, although the cupcake was awful. I will try once more in spring hoping the find the flower beds as lovely as in the past.

“Really nice place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

Even though this is not the best time of year to visit, this place made up for it with their extensive array of Christmas lights. Very nice facility and appears well kept. The orchid collection while not that large is well worth seeing. One of the reasons it hasn't got more reviews is that it is really near anything. I am anxious to go back with everything is in bloom. Highly recommended.

“Family Visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

Very well laid out, inviting, thoughtful staff, interesting species. Went with young grandchildren and they found it interesting and not too tiring.

Took my camera and some friends. The day was great...so much to see, so much diversity. A wonderful experience.
