“A Very Nice Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

We spent 4 nights at the inn in order to do the local historic tour of homes and gardens. It was very comfortable. We stayed in 2 different rooms on different nights. Both had showers that were a little small for someone as tall as my husband. It sounds silly, but I really liked the soap - citrus/herb scented. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was nice - really enjoyed the cinnamon scones and pear kuchen. Good coffee always available. Nice innkeepers. Very helpful manager/cook. Met some interesting other guests.

Room Tip: I think they are all nice.

My wife and I spent three nights here and were really disappointed. We have frequently used B & B's so the price was not the issue. Value for your dollar is, however. We stayed in a "suite", so expectations were somewhat elevated. What we found was a fairly large room with decrepit furniture, a shower stall that was about 26 inches square and a bathroom with virtually no place to put our toiletries. The bed was fine, and we slept well. Additionally, the location of the Inn is ideal. That does not nearly make up for the run-down appearance of the house. With a little effort, the continental breakfast would become mediocre. The advertised garden appears not to have been weekend for 3 or 4 years. We will almost certainly return to Beaufort, but not to the Pecan Tree Inn.

My husband and I stayed at the Pecan Tree Inn for one night as we began a week long tour of the NC Outer Banks. This inn is absolutely absolutely beautiful and has a cool history.

The bed was a little small (more like full than an actual queen), but everything else was wonderful. We loved the decorations, the view of the streets of Beaufort, and the continental breakfast with a homemade pear tart and cinnamon scones.

The location can't be beat. We will definitely consider staying here again in the future!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Blue Room and it has a lovely view of the street.

What a great place to stay! The owner was fabulous.....very accommodating to my friend who had gluten allergies. He made wonderful breakfasts with amazing, locally roasted coffee. The location was very convenient to all the wonderful places in Beaufort and secure/safe with an easy stroll plus bikes we readily available for use. The room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and was right off the outdoor porch with rocking chairs. Highly recommend this wonderful, hospitable location.

We went to the Pecan Tree Inn for the third time to celebrate our anniversary. Actually, we didn't realize it was our 3rd time until the inn keeper reminded us. Then, we realized that we have gone there on our 20th, 25th, and 30th anniversaries! This time we enjoyed the lovely Beaufort suite with a super comfy bead and Jacuzzi. Plus, we were within walking distance from the waterfront and restaurants. The inn keepers were hospitable and provided us with a tasty continental breakfast. I especially enjoyed the yummy nut bread. Our only complaint is that we only do this every 5 years. This has GOT to change!! :)

My wife and I enjoyed our 2-night stay the later part of Memorial Day weekend. The "Blue Room" was nice and the living room and dining room were just right. The only thing I would like to see changed is maybe a little more fruit or some eggs & grits for breakfast. I think the room rate warrants it. The yard and garden area were nice as well, but I have never understood why some places don't allow smoking on the porches/balconies. After all, this is still North Carolina, right? Dave was a nice and very polite fellow, but we never met his wife.

Room Tip: If you need a bit more space, rent one of the larger suites.

Picked Pecan Tree for a end-of-Memorial Day weekend overnight and was very pleased. Very attractive inn with a charming innkeeper within blocks of everything in this lovely seaside village. The rate was reasonable, the room was very comfortable (#5, Aviary) and the breakfast was good. High recommendation for anyone visiting Beaufort for a night or a longer stay.
