“Looking forward to our next visit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2009

We were planning a weekend trip and were lucky to find this place. The owner, Lizzet Prest, had a cancellation at the last minute and took our reservation. She was very helpful and informative while we made our reservation. This helpfulness continued when we arrived and throughout our stay.

We stayed in the Constantino Room, right next to the front door. However, the hotel is very quiet as is the surrounding neighborhood. We were able to sit on the front porch with our laptop and books and just relax and watch the occasional passerbys. Breakfast was served as ordered (don't settle for the standard breakfast--try the Mexican breakfast if you can!). We had the standard breakfast--fruits, scrambled eggs, biscuits, sausages, and a few other things all served freshly made and all piled on a large plate. Excellent! However, some others had arranged to have Lizzet make them a Mexican breakfast--we're planning to return to Beaufort and this is one of the reasons why! Someone else had french toast stuffed with ricotta cheese--this also looked great!

Lizzet offered us bikes to tour the town--we didn't have time to take her up on the offer. We walked all over town--never needed the car. The B&B is very centrally located. She also made some great dining recommendations, one of which we tried--excellent choice.

Make your reservation well in advance, as this place fills up quickly (for good reason). The room upstairs has a hammock and rocking chair on the balcony.

Overall, no complaints at all! Excellent choice in Beaufort!!

This is our second stay at the house, and Lizzet is a perfect host. When I go to a B&B I am looking for someone to treat me like family, and she does just that. She helps us with places to go, and adventures to try. If you are looking for a relaxed place to spend with your special someone, this is the house. Also, come with an appetite, Lizzet will make sure you have enough fuel to get your through your day, eggs, fresh fruit, a meat, and hash browns, and who can forget the amazing home made biscuits! The second floor room has access to a private porch, and has a 2 person tub with jets (it is HUGE). Features like water filling from the ceiling, full body massage setup in the shower, make this room a win in every way. We will come back to visit our "family" in Beaufort soon!

i've got to give lizzet prest a 10 on this one. a vintage 1730's b&b; tastefully restored and decorated; 1/2 block from front street--not more than 3 blocks from any of beaufort's attractions. ......and best of all, lizzet treated us like family! we'll be back for sure.

We stayed here one night on our way to Ocracroke Island. Stayed in the upstairs bebroom with access to the front porch (strongly recommend it). Large room and large bathroom with a tub for two. The host is very gracious woman who was very attentive without getting instrusive. Great breakfast served to order. Because we were the only guests that night, she had coffee at our door the morning we left.

The house is about two blocks from the waterfront, which is a fun place to wander around. The house iteself is old with alot of character and filled with beautiful antiques.

Langdon House B&B is a nice old house with the very friendly and helpful owner. The breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed our stay there.

My husband and I just returned from our stay in Beaufort and the Langdon House B&B. We had planned on going to Charleston, SC for the last part of our vacation, but Hurricane Hannah changed all that. We looked at our atlas, then got on the computer and spent some time figuring out where we could go for the last few days of our vacation. Loving historic places and the water, we thought Beaufort might be a nice option, even though we knew nothing about the town. We checked Trip Advisor (as we always do) for B&B's and up popped several nice reviews for the Langdon House. I called and spoke to Lizzette, the owner, and asked if she had any last minute accommodations available. She was so friendly and sweet, and she said she could put us in the Master Suite for 2 nights. Lizzette is a wonderful hostess and our stay in the Langdon House was fantastic. The house is beautiful, cozy and warm, and the master suite has a 4x6 spa tub for two, which fills from the ceiling! We had the top porch all to ourselves with rockers and a hammock for enjoying the breeze and quiet. Lizzette has many books, which she gladly allows a guest to borrow during the stay. (There's no television). The traditional breakfast was delicious-eggs, hash browns, fresh strawberries and peaches (served in a seashell), homemade biscuits, ham and juice. The Langdon House is 2 blocks from wonderful restaurants (the Grocery Co. and Blue Moon Bistro were our two favorites for both dinner and out of this world desserts), all the shops, as well as Front Street and the waterfront. You don't need a car once you park. We walked everywhere. The town of Beaufort is a step back in time. The historic houses are beautiful, the people are so friendly, and the town is charming. We were so taken by the place that we're even thinking of buying a lot. Next time we go back to Beaufort, we'll definitely stay at Langdon House, and we'll look forward to visiting with Lizzette again.

  • Liked — The room, convenience to the waterfront/restaurants, breakfast, the owner

This is a real treasure of a place. Stay in the Master Guest Room. Here are my three favorite things:
1) 4' x 6' spa tub was very relaxing for a couple, plus large shower, lots of Egyptian cotton towels
2) Own large porch on second floor with rocking chairs and a hammock on a very quiet street
3) The owner, Lizette, can really cook. We had fresh peaches, strawberries, scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, biscuits, and more.
The house is very old, but well kept. It is only two short blocks from Front street with restaurants, shops, etc. The actual neighborhood is very quiet, with an old church across the street. There is parking behind the house on the property.

I should also mention that Lizette was a joy to talk to--very interesting person. She had lots of books and brochures of the area and plenty of advice about Beaufort.

  • Liked — Spa tub, porch, breakfast, free high speed wireless
  • Disliked — Small town
