“See artifacts from the Queen Anne's Revenge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2012

We spent about 1 1/2 hours in the museum. Very interesting exhibits. Our favorite section was the exhibit on Blackbeard's ship, Queen Anne's Revenge.

“Nice little museum”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

It was interesting but full of school children when we were there, so I think we would have stayed longer without the distractions.

Wonderful, I go every year and it never gets boring. New exhibits this year. Just don't take flash pictures, you'll get in trouble!!

“Great little treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

Spent a few hours in this wonderful, free museum! Liked learning about the history and techniques of life-saving on the coast. The exhibit of items recovered from the salvage of the ship believed to be Blackbeard's was also fascinating. Be sure to view the hour-long PBS documentary on the salvage operation that museum staff are happy to play upon request. Definitely worth a visit...

“Blackbeard's Treasures”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Well displayed and very educational presentation of the discoveries from Blackbeard's ship the "Queen Anne's Revenge." The other galleries are equally well done.
