Not gonna be able to write a long review, but dont let that dilute my enthusiasum for this wonderful B&B. Wine was great (went home with a case). Facilities were fabulous. Food was better than MOMS. Staff were so friendly, we felt like family after 2 nights. Best view in the whole mountain chain was when they set us up in the north vinyard for picnic and wine. (note:go on up past the cattle gate and around the sharp right turn....up about 200 yards more and thats the spot). We had a pure MAJESTIC and romantic couple of hours up there. YOU will never forget it. Dont let anything pull you away from booking this place. You will love it. Michelle, Lindsay, Val, Holly and Ashley, Thank you so much for a great weekend get-away!

Room Tip: Book one of the suites....they are SWEET!

We arrived Sunday about 4pm..checked into the Blueberry Inn...Then down to the winery for some wonderful wines....Very nice and the staff are outstanding..
This is our fourth visit..and guess what? We are already making plans for a return for more days..
We stayed in the Blueberry room...overlooking the estate and winery..lovely...
The place is very nicely decorated and taken care of.
Breakfast on Monday and Tuesday were just right.. Thanks for making our mini vacation a real treat..See you in 2013!

Room Tip: We liked the 2nd floor because we live on the 2nd floor at our home.

What a pleasant experience! The Villa is set in a vineyard surrounded by the beatiful Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolinal The Winery is just a few steps away. The interior of the 8-bedroom Villa is outstanding....Tuscane style furniture and decor..Breakfast was plentiful and excellently prepared!

The overall experience was enhanced by Dee at the viilla and Lindsey at the Winery....in fact, everyone we came in contact with was extremely gracious and quite knowlegable about tje Villa and Winery. We even had a "personal" tour of the vineyard by Lindsey and a sharing of recipes by Dee! We will definitely return and highly recommend it to others!

Room Tip: We had a room on the lower level....very convenient for "senior citizens"

We just returned from a weekend at the Banner Elk Winery and Villa. It was absolute PERFECTION. The weekend was so perfect that the first thing we did upon our return was to book another stay for fall. We can't wait to go back.

The staff: The staff probably made the trip. When making reservations, Michelle was incredibly prompt and attentive to all my requests. She helped me book the Farm to Table dinner and in-room massages. Everything was done quickly and I received lots of communication from Michelle and the concierge, Bic. When we arrived, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. Dee, Michelle, and Valerie were always checking to see if we needed anything. They were very attentive, even though a huge wedding was happening that had them running in every direction! They were all very helpful to us during our stay, getting us bottles of wine, giving us tours, and even arranging a spur of the moment picnic in the upper vineyard as a birthday surprise for my husband. Incredible hospitality.

The Villa: The villa is gorgeous. The common areas upstairs are cozy and beautiful and our room, the Zinfindel Suite, was huge and incredibly comfortable. The bed was absurdly comfortable, with a soft memory foam top and clean, quality, plush linens. The bathroom was wonderfully equipped with top quality Fresh skincare products, including an adorable mini Fresh Sugar lip balm (my favorite!). There was an abundance of fluffy, white towels as well. I like a bath with plenty of towels! The room had a large T.V., a nice closet, and had an exterior door to the outer patio with a gorgeous view. We noticed there were always snacks in the villa common areas as well as orange and lemon infused water. They also keep wine at the villa, so that if you decide you need a bottle, you don't have to wait for the winery to open to get it.

The food: I expected a typical B&B breakfast, but what we woke up to was a chef who had brought food from his own farm making us an outstanding meal. It was not the uncomfortable "everyone at the table with a lace doily" affair you often find at a B&B. Rather, we all congregated in the warm open kitchen as he cooked, talking and sipping coffee from oversized mugs that you can help yourself to any time after 7:00 a.m. (the coffee comes with an assortment of flavored syrups, which was a nice touch). It was more like being at my mom's house (but with better food!). We were also lucky enough to attend one of their Farm to Table dinners. Unfortunately, the dinner had to be moved inside due to an unexpected cold front (who expects 40 degrees in June??), but they still managed to make the setting beautiful and warm. The meal was served family style at tables that were beautifully set and adorned with jars of wildflowers. Each course was served with one of their own wines, so it was a wonderful way to find out which ones we liked (we liked them ALL). The meal was prepared by a local chef using ingredients from his own farm or farms within a 20 mile radius. We were served fresh field greens with new radishes and spring onions, mountain trout that was literally caught that day, sauteed kale with a green tomato relish, new potatoes, roasted chicken, sugar snap peas, and a strawberry cobbler with fresh cream. It was incredible.

Special Services: We had pre-booked one special service, an in-room couples massage. It was fantastic. On our first night, at the Farm to Table dinner, the owner realized it was my husband's birthday and pulled me aside to recommend a picnic at the upper vineyard. It sounded perfect so I said "absolutely!" She asked me if we liked Italian food and told me to be at the winery at noon the next day. They would take care of EVERYTHING. And they did. I expected a simple basket of sandwiches or something, but what we got was so much more amazing. Even though they were all CRAZY busy with a wedding that was going to be the same day, they took the time to order an amazing Italian meal, get it from a local restaurant, and drive it to their upper vineyard, an incredibly private and romantic mountaintop arbor with sweeping views. They set up a beautiful picnic with wine, salads with marinated olives, fried artichokes and yeast rolls, tortellini in a cream sauce, and the most amazing cheesecake. They set it up beautifully and even decorated with wildflowers. We didn't have to do a thing but show up and enjoy it. It was absolute perfection. I can't believe how they went out of their way, particularly given how busy they were that day.

The Winery: The winery is lovely and the wines were all very good. Most were very reasonably priced at around $18 a bottle.

The grounds: The property is beautiful. Several vineyards and a large blueberry field, where you can pick your own if you like. There is a beautiful old barn that was decorated for a wedding when we were there. I can't imagine a more beautiful event for a special occasion. There is a catch and release pond with a romantic little waterfall and bridge, and lots of big rocks to stretch out on and enjoy a glass of wine. There is a large fire pit down near the pond as well.

I can't say enough good things about this place. I would recommend splurging and getting a larger room. You won't be sorry. I would also recommend splurging and taking advantage of some of their special offerings like a picnic or a romantic dinner. It's worth every penny. Finally, I recommend getting several bottles of wine to enjoy during your stay and then getting several to take home!

For a romantic trip or special event, you can't beat this place.

Room Tip: I recommend getting a larger room and getting a room with a king sized bed. You won't regret it.

We just got back from staying at the Banner Elk Winery and Villa and I can't say enough nice about it. The staff was wonderful and very attentive, the breakfast was great and the Cabernet was (in our opinion) the best wine they had. While we were there for two nights they were having a wedding on the grounds but we never felt slighted in any way even though they were very busy with the wedding. The Bordeaux room was a really nice room to stay in and the jacuzzi tub was great.

Room Tip: Bordeaux has an excellent view.

Stopped by the winery on a recent mountain trip. The winery building seemed nice enough but the hospitality was less than favorable. Maybe it was because they were planning a wedding but the gentleman I met was not at all concerned about the conversation I was trying to thoughtfully and courtesly persue. Ohhh well....Banner Elk is still a wonderful place but I will pass by in the future.

My husband and I spent our 20th wedding anniversary at the Bannerelk Winery and villa where we were treated like royalty. We stayed in the Bordeaux suite which was warm and welcoming with the most breath taking view from every angle. The jacuzzi yub where you could sit and relax while taking in a wonderfull view of rolling hills covered in Blueberry bushes. The staff at the winery were very knowledgable and I think there names were Lindsey and Valerie. The breakfast was wonderful prepared by our very own chef. The lady that runs the villas, Dee was very helpfull and made us feel at home. I would Highly recomend to any one if you are looking for a 5 star get away to go to the Banner elk Winery and Villa. I feel so renewed after our visit. Thankyou so much we will be back soon.. Erika & John Douglas
