“Good Cineplex, average food, choice of stores”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

These pre-planned urban complexes have their positives and negatives. On the plus side, you can spend a whole afternoon there. Do have to pay for parking, but $3.25 buys you 6 hours). Can shop at one of the stores like L&T, Orvis, LLBean, H&M, Old Navy, an Apple store among others. Go to a movie at the Cineplex, that has stadium seating and you get a $1 discount on parking and $2.25 discount for soda and popcorn which is outrageously expensive! Food is the downer for us. Chain type fare except for a few specialty restaurants that are also average. Haven't hit one I would return to. But if like burgers can go to Yard House. I like the Whole Foods and they do have complimentary parking for 90 minutes for those who spend $10 or more. Easy to do!

“Great Shopping and Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

They are adding stores on an ongoing bases. They have Lord & Taylor, Charming Charlie, Dick's Sporting Goods, LL Bean and many many more. There are numerous restaurants to wet any one's appetite. THe Yard House, Cheesecake Factory, and many more. There is also a great movie theatre. There is plenty of security so safety is not an issue. Also plenty of parking.

“A Mixed Bag at Ridge Hill”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 10, 2012

The big Ridge Hill development, controversial and overly-hyped, is now nearing completion with most of the major tenants open. On the plus side: an L. L. Bean (though disappointingly small), an Orvis, an REI, a big Lord and Taylor, and a Whole Foods. On the minus side: expensive parking, chain restaurants, a multi-plex cinema showing only the usual films available everywhere, and architecture totally lacking in authenticity or charm. Walking the near-empty streets, you could as easily be in a mall in Arizona or Colorado.

“Beautiful but a bit inconvenient”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

Ridge Hill is just off I-87 North, before you hit the tolls after leaving Yonkers. It's still under development, so new shops are being added every month and each time you go there, you'll see something new. There are some decent restaurants like Yardhouse, a movie theatre and average shopping at the stores you've probably come to know (Sephora, Bebe, whole Foods, etc). It is a lovely development to look at but in my opinion, they should have planned the parking better.

Ridge Hill is supposed to be a upscale and for me, convenience should come with the atmosphere. Unfortunately, it feels almost like being in NYC and that deters me from going sometimes. Streets are narrow; street parking is scarce and you have to feed meters until midnight. If you want to go to the movies, you'll have to pay for parking and I don't like that. There are also municipal lots that cause you to do more walking than you might appreciate. For me, shopping and dining should be way more convenient, but if you don't mind the parking situation you'll probably have a great time.

“A nice change of pace”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

This isn't 100% finished yet but I think when it is it will be a 5 star complex. There's a huge selection of restaurants (although some are hit or miss but that's not the mall's fault). Tons of stores - Apple, Bath and Body Works, The Limited, White House Black Market, Sur La Table, Sephora. The Lord and Taylor is a little crummy and there are some other stores that I wouldn't necessarily die without but they're nice to have there. Staff in almost all of the stores is pretty helpful and nice and polite. The Whole Foods is very nice (still not my favorite Whole Foods but it does it's job in a pinch) and the movie theater is really nice. Overall a pretty nice addition to the area.
