“Comfy and Quiet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We stayed here for five nights, after the hurricane and during the nor'easter. We chose it for its proximity to the Bronx, which was only a ten minute drive. The hotel was filled with people without power and utility workers trying to restore it. The staff was very friendly and helpful even though overwhelmed by the circumstances.
Our room was clean and comfortable. I liked the generous counter in the dressing area. My pet peeve with hotels is the stingy space they give travelers for all their "stuff". We had a suite so there was extra space for a small fridge and microwave. There was an additional counter with a mirror so theoretically, two places to prep for the day.
The shower had good water pressure and consistent temperature.
The lobby has a breakfast area and a small bar. The fireplace was a nice place to hang out during the storm. They also serve fresh baked cookies in the afternoon. Yummy.
All in all a nice stay. I would definitely return.

We used this hotel for out of town guests for our wedding. I went to the hotel about 10 times before I was able to set up a room block. I would go when the person who handles blocks should have been working and she wasn't there. I would call and she wouldn't return my calls. We used this hotel because of the location. If it weren't so convenient, we would have used another hotel.
About 2 months before our wedding, there was a problem with the block. I went to the hotel to settle the problem and there was a new person in charge of our event. The other person didn't appear to work there anymore. Amanda was much easier to work with and much more responsive to contact. She was extremely helpful and made all dealings with the hotel up to the wedding weekend pleasant.
At check in, it was hectic. Our wedding was at the hotel that weekend along with another wedding and multiple high school track teams. Even with everything going on, they got our guests into rooms quickly and efficiently, although some guests requested different rooms. We had welcome bags for our guests which the front desk happily distributed.
The day of our wedding, we arranged the hotel shuttle to bring our guests to the church. The shuttle driver left our guests at the wrong church and took about 5 minutes to return to bring them to the correct church. We gave them all of the correct information. The church they left our guests at had a completely different name and is on a different street. After our ceremony, they shuttle was 45 minutes late to bring guests back to the hotel.
The hotel bar stayed open late after our reception for our guests. A number of people took advantage and were happy with the service.
The room my husband and I stayed in was comfortable and clean. I love Hampton Inn beds. They have to be the most comfortable hotel beds around.
Breakfast Sunday morning was very crowded, but the staff kept things clean and orderly. Breakfast was tasty, sausages, french toast sticks and eggs. They have hot and cold cereal, bagels and waffles as well.

I would recommend this hotel to stay in, but I don't think I would recommend arranging a block of rooms for an event.

I live 5 miles from this Hampton, and I had no idea it even existed, as it's tucked away in a small corporate park away from main streets. But we spent 3 nights at the Hampton after Hurricane Sandy while our power was out, and it couldn't have been better. First, the hotel staff couldn't have been nicer. The front desk people were completely calm in a chaotic situation, and did the best they could for everyone. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the room was large, bright, comfortable and quiet. Given the circumstances, I expected staying there to be simply dealing with a bad situation, but I would clearly recommend this hotel to people coming from out of town. In this area, when you hear Yonkers, you immediately think downscale, but the Hampton is absolutely worth it.

We chose this hotel as a refuge from our cold, powerless home. Check-in took a while as difficult guests tried the patience of the front desk staff. Melody remained smiling and pleasant throughout, getting us into a third floor room and staying past her shift to help. Our room was comfortable and stylish, with a large granite sink and stall shower. There was a nice accent light behind the TV which gave the room a sophisticated feel. Construction felt solid, except for the stall shower. The hotel provided full amenities, including mouthwash and shower gel.
We were slightly disturbed by other guests who were mistakenly assigned to our room, but were more than compensated by a call of apology and a discount on our stay , both of which were offered without our request or even a complaint. (These things happen). A shout-out to Eric in guest relations for going the extra mile for us.
Breakfast was very good with kielbasa, and toasted bagels with cheese and bacon, along with the more usual items. Eric came through the breakfast area, checking on guests and distributing mints. This level of care was more like a Four Seasons than a Hampton Inn. All in all a great stay and more than I expected. If a storm is threatening again, I know where I will go for shelter.

Visiting a student in sarah lawrence. The 5 mile trip from hotel to college was a true test. But the hotel staff was very friendly and the rooms (a studio suite) great value, large, comfortable, modern. Busy place, surprisingly nice and upbeat for your standard blah chain hotel

Took a road trip up to NY to visit relatives, stayed at this Hotel and was very happy. We stayed in a 2 Queen suite. it came with a couch, and a couple of chairs to relax if you the type to watch TV at night. We got in late each night we were there but it was nice to have the room to relax. Beds were comfortable, clean and if I had to say a negative, the pillows were too squishy for me. But all and all it was a great room. Down stairs they had complimentary breakfast which usually is lame at hotels but this was above average. Besides the traditional pastries, waffle maker and cereals it also had a few hot dishes each morning (i.e. eggs, sausages, omelets, and french toast sticks) so that made it a little nicer. I'm a big coffee drinker and it was the only thing I thought was horrible but luckily there was my favorite DD a stones throw away. We took the train into Grand Central Station which was about a half a mile drive from hotel, and parking was FREE. Train ride into the city is about $7.25 or so. They do have a shuttle to take you there but the shuttle seemed to take quite a long time and driving ourselves was a breeze with our GPS, don't leave home without it!!! Very Happy with accommodations and would deffinitely stay again.

Room Tip: i would splurge and get the suite, even if you don't watch TV, it's nice to be able to relax...
