“Terribly worse!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

My story is a hectic one. We decided to move close to Queens area for last two days of our NY trip because our flight was from LGA early in the morning.

When we entered the hotel an Indian guy at reception received us, as I had already booked a hotel room, I checked-in. When I reached the room, I was shocked to see the room. It was not only small, it had dirty curtains and there was bloody red thing on it. Worst part was that curtains were on top of AC, so when I switched on the AC, those dirty green curtain were flying all over the place. The room was stinky as well. In just 10 minutes I went down and asked the manager for refund, which is refused, and offered me to show other rooms.

I checked two-three rooms but all were about the same size; I requested again for refund but he refused again. We checked in at around 10pm, even then the guy was refusing the refund, and I was forcing for it because I paid him for two nights.

While we were having all this discussion with the guy, we also noticed a guy coming in with a girl and gave the manager money for 4 hours booking... then we realised that it was actually a brothel too and the money was probably going directly into the manager's pocket without owners knowing it.

Finally, as we were too tired,we decided to spend the night there and leave early in the morning. But when I went into the room and started the AC, the curtains started flying all over the place; I used hangers to keep them bound to the wall (see photo). We discovered that the blankets were also stinky and it started itching when I tried to sleep (see photo). I was furious again; I called Bookingcom helpline to complain; after some 20 minutes of talking, they only helped us get the refund for the second night but for the current night, manager simply refused. Somehow we spent the night, booked a hotel online in Manhattan and moved there early in the morning.

This is not a hotel, it is a brothel; do NOT bother going there... THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL I'VE STAYED IN ANY PLACE IN THE WORLD... Trust me this is the best advice I've given to anyone in ages.

After a few days, when I was in Denver, I got an email from Bookingcom, and they told me that owner has agreed to refund my second night as well. I stayed there in late May, and it is 12 July now, and some 30 email conversations and 40 days later I am still waiting for that refund.

Room Tip: Simply avoid it. I have seen around four of their rooms, but none is worth it.

we planned for Newyork trip hence we had chosen the woodside motel due to our suitability. It has mimimal distance from metro so it was quite easy to get through metro for visiting their attraction. Now i am coming to hotel,it was well comfortable, we had all necessary things in our room provided by them like microwave, press, television etc. They paid attention over cleanliness of room and toilet.Breakfast was not included with bed but free tea and coffee were provided over there.Staff was so amicably.I like their way of hospitality.Though the hotel was situated on main road; we did not feel any type of disturbance. we slept pleasantly

I went there like 2 years ago, when the place was called Howard Johnson Express Queens. The staff was very friendly and the room was so clean and the location was good as well. I hope it hasn't changed since then.

Property along busy Queens Boulevard, with plenty of restaurants in the area; 10 minutes from LGA, 20 minutes from JFK, 20 minutes from Midtown Manhattan (city bus stop, just outside); with cable TV on a 40" wide screen (w/ remote); luxury bath soaps; ice machine, snack vending machine. Good for couples, solo, friends, business travelers. Easy check-in. Friendly front desk. Towels could have been cleaner (bring your own, if a problem.)

Reserved room 4 mos ago under Howard Johnsons Express Inn. Should've been cued when the taxi driver didn't know where it was. All the ammenities promised were NOT there. The room was dirty, "guests" were reserving rooms "by the hour" and XXX rated movies were on the tv. The pic is NOTHING like it looks. Booked through HOTELS.COM who summed it up with "Too bad we got your money now we're not going to do anything about it". I was never informed by HOTELS.COM that the property had been sold and offered another stay somewhere else. I paid for one thing and was given another. DO NOT STAY HERE and for GODS SAKE DO NOT BOOK THROUGH HOTELS.COM. They are untrustworthy and should be banned from booking hotel rooms!

Room Tip: Pay a little more and stay somewhere else! DO NOT BOOK through HOTELS.COM!
