“NO-QUALITY INN”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago via mobile

NO-Quality Inn Woodside is a budget hotel with low and weak service.
There are only 10 seats at breakfast and you have to be lucky if there are both fruit AND youghurt with the bagels.
Even they are no-show if you are going to breakfast the last half hour of the opening time.
In my room the wallpaper was slipping the wall at severel points.
The water in the toilet was running and was repaired.
2 days after that the water was flowing out of the toilet to the flor of the bathroom AND from there to the room.

I booked this hotel as one of my relative stay very close to hotel...honestly speaking every area needs improvement of the hotel, unless their target customers are some special category...room service staff was very good, after getting in the room, he read me and trying his best to make me comfortable...

Stayed here on an NYC weekend get away. Booked for around 70 a night through hotels.com. Bathroom and room were well appointed, clean, and recently remodeled. Felt totally safe in the hotel. King bed was nice. Room included a mini fridge. Easy transit in to the city - the 51ST train station (7 line) is just 2 short blocks away (3-4 minute walk). Room included breakfast which was decent (cereal, yogurt, eggs, sausage one day, ham another, coffee, and juice). Had an irate couple one night but the manager handled it well. We were very pleased with our stay! It's no 4 or 5 start hotel but for the price and the ease of transit, they did an excellent job!

We were in NYC to visit a couple of places with kids aged 7 months and 6 yo. Visit the Brooklyn Zoo, Central Park, Business District, we used the Ferry to Staten Island to see the Statue of Liberty. Classical 4 days vacation.

Breakfast: you have a little continental buffet, small, but effective just to feed up for your day.

Room: Ok if you are there to visit, so be more outside than inside the room. Clean place, quiet, but a bit small for family of 4. I would recommend this place for people who wants to head for baseball, tennis or just party downtown or take a visit.

Location: pretty residential, but a block away from the subway, so you can head to Flushing Meadows or Manhattan pretty quickly.

Restaurant: There is none in the hôtel, but just close to the subway, there are a couple of nice places. A Mexican restaurant with a nice back yard terrace. Also, a japanese, phillipan restaurants. There is a couple of places that don't look extraordinary, but once you are in, they are ok.

Positive: Although the parking is relatively small, it's free. Or you can park in the streets around.

Room Tip: The classical: not close to the ice machine. Other than that, it's good.

I'm not giving it the lowest possible rating since not everything is bad here: prices were reasonable (for NYC standards) and the location is fairly close to the subway line 7. It was also OK for cleanliness and wi-fi was free.

Now for the not so good part of it: unattractive neighborhood, in front of a busy avenue and a graveyard. Breakfast is quite limited, with few seating places on a narrow strip. There is free parking, but places are also limited and availability is not guaranteed. There is one computer for the guests, it's old and the monitor has distorted colors, making it inconvenient to use.

And for the worst part: we lost a backpack here, with some important contents such as documents. Staff didn't seem to really care and said that if the bag were found, it would be there lying on the ground of the reception. Needed to go to the police to report the missing material and they said, according to Google, that "the newest precinct seems to be in Long Island City". I have seen another review from someone who left a coat in the closet and was upset that they didn't care, I totally relate to this.

I replied to their online guest satisfaction questionnaire and got a canned answer back: "I would like to apologize for failing to exceed your expectations. Your satisfaction is important to us and we will be using the feedback you provided to make improvements to ensure we offer an exceptional experience for our guests in the future. I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. Sincerely, Guest Service" Failing to exceed my expectations? No, you failed to even meet them by being utterly unable to help a distressed guest and by your lack of adequate support and concern. Deeply disappointed with the Choice Hotels group, I will not be staying with them anymore.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2014

Came upon this hotel when doing some research for our small vacation stay. We found the price to be very competitive (roughly $100 a night) for that time of year and we booked it since it was very close to the subway. The hotel was on a major street and so it was relatively easy to get to. The check in was fast and we were very lucky to find a parking spot (there are literally like 10 spots) on the property. The receptionist was a bit confused when we asked about the parking.. perhaps they should be more helpful especially with such little parking availability.

The room was good but a bit on the tiny side. We also found the room to be cold when we walked in after a night of sightseeing. The bathroom was very nice with plenty of towels and soap.

Overall, I would stay here again. I wish it was a tiny bit closer to Manhattan, yet it was on the 7 line at 52nd St station directly to Grand Central station and Times Square so it was very convenient.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. It's a great option if you are traveling on a budget but want to be close to the city. It's about a $20 cab ride to central park. There is a subway station a block away from the hotel which is super convenient. Rooms were a good size and fairly clean. I would recommend this hotel for people not wanting to spend as much as they would for so thing similar in Manhattan
