“Wonderful place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

I stayed here for a wedding we had nearby for a night. The room is huge and updated and clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The pool area was very nice even though we didn't use it. The complimentary breakfast was great they had everything not just bagels and coffee. This place is pricey, but it is well worth the money!

I enjoyed my stay, rooms are very well kept . Food is good but for a nice hotel the frontdesk manager and the front desk are nothing but nasty . They are a bunch of kids with attitudes and unprofessional . I walked in to gossip and they had no idea what they were doing when they were checking me in .

This all-suite property serves the (also very nice) catering facility next door, where we attended a family wedding.

Our 1BR king suite was very clean and very well appointed. Energy efficient lighting throughout the property and in the room (CFLs and LEDs, with choice of light levels in the bed and sink area). Building construction seemed solid, and room-to-room noise was not an issue, though our suite near the lobby had a lot of that noise come in under the door.

King bed was very comfortable--I counted 9 pillows total!

Breakfast spread was very impressive, and included a variety of vegan-friendly options (cereal, oatmeal, fruit, bagels). There is a Whole Foods and Stop & Shop nearby for stocking up the kitchenette. My family enjoyed the courtyard pool.

Only problem I had with the room layout was the lack of readily accessible outlets/USB ports for charging cameras and other devices, including at the work desk. This is becoming standard at lesser-priced chains, so this omission stuck out a bit.

I found the optional in-room extras a bit excessive: bathrobes, slippers, and $4 bottles of boutique bottled water...wasn't interested so I left them alone. If the hotel is committed to green practices (per their in-room signage) they should install water filters on their kitchenette sinks/ice makers and advertise that fact proudly, and lose the bottled stuff.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms at the front if noise from the lobby/breakfast area is a concern; during the day, noise...

I stayed at the Fox Hollow over Memorial Day weekend for my best friend's wedding. My experience was good other than the food being so-so & the effects the hot tub had on mine and all of my girl friends bathing suits & jewelry. We spent at least an hour in there and afterwards all of our suits were completely bleached and ruined (and mind you, most of them were brand new and fairly expensive) and any rings and some necklaces we were wearing turned to a dark charcoal color and were unable to be cleaned. One of my girlfriend's even had the tips of her hair bleached to a lighter brown. Obviously the chemical levels in the water must have been off. We called the hotel's Director of Operations, Katie Carriero, and she told us their chlorine levels were at Nassau County standards, that we should check the labels on our suits (because a swimsuit is different from a bathing suit) and that she might be able to take 20% off one of the rooms. I'm mostly writing this post to warn all ladies with expensive suits they don't want ruined to stay out of their hot tub, especially since they seem to be unconcerned with their guests once they check out.

Room Tip: Stay out of the hot tub.

I was on Long Island and my administrative assistant booked me in at this hotel because of proximity to a business meeting the next day. I usually stay at Marriott hotels, so I was very curious how this would compare.

Check in was easy and quick. When I went to my room I found a 1 bdr suite that was nicely appointed. It was very clean and the bathroom area was large and accommodating. The bed was comfortable, albeit, it has about a dozen pillows on it. How many pillows does one need to sleep?

Dinner & Breakfast are included in the price. Dinner was so-so, and breakfast was OK. Both are served via a buffet. I would definitively go out for dinner next time.

A nice touch is the wireless also included in the price.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. USA Today was delivered to the room and WSJ was available at the front desk.

Overall I felt good value for the stay.

However, avoid a front facing room, if traffic noise keeps you awake.

Room Tip: Avoid a front facing room if you do not like traffic noise.

I have stayed here several times on business. What an oasis! The grounds are beautifully manicured, lots of flowers, trees, outdoor seating. Rooms are mini suites, with kitchens and living areas. Bed and linens are luxurious. Beautiful and homey decor. Spacious bathrooms, great toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers for use in the room. Dinner buffet in the evening with cheeses, fruit, crackers, breads, soup, salad, pasta, vegetables, at least one meat dish. Nice seating in the library, wine available in the bar next door. Substantial breakfast buffet with an extensive selection of hot and cold favorites. A business traveler's dream. Elegant sit down restaurant with full bar next door with live music most nights. Just stayed there and was overwhelmed by the abundance of tulips and flowering trees and shrubs. Pool wasn't yet open, but it looked very nice. Ambience is elegant, spacious, and old world. Love this place!

The room was very spacious. Lots of closet space. Good breakfast. We were on 2nd floor near the elevator and the noise from the lobby downstairs was terrible. It was a very busy weekend. The staff was good but there were a lot of people hanging around the lobby most of the time and there was a lot of noise. I would not return because it was impossible to sleep.
