“Beautiful mountains, great owners and staff and a great golf course”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2010

MY parent's went to the Thompson House for 30 years, I have had my children and gradnchildren up on many occasions and from youngest ot oldest they have all loved it. IWe started a new tradition last year and all the men go up for two days of golf in the fall. If you are looking for a heavy party or night life with clubs etc. this is not the place to go. If on the other hand you enjoy some real good scenery, good food and the warmth of owners and a staff who cares then you have found the right place.
I saw someone complained about the"old TV set" They work and have more than ample stations to watch- I guess this guest did not look at the mountains or the opportunties the town of Windham offers!

We chose The Thompson House based on location, and were able to take day trips
to Howe's Cavern, Kaaterskill falls, and Horseback riding.
Our granddaughters had a wonderful time, and there were extras (magic show, singing, rock climbing, bocce, pool, etc.) which we had not expected.
The best aspect of this hotel are the owners, who would respond pleasantly to any question, and provide information (maps, written directions, calls to horse back riding)
without being asked. We have rarely had such wonderful attention at a stay.
Highly recommended for a pleasant vacation.

Our group of 22 spent 5 days at The Thompson House and had a great time. There was something to do each day for the children and the adults. The Goettsche family were all very gracious and accommodating. We plan to go back again next year!

We live in St. Louis Mo. and I have sisters who live in Windham. Over the years my wife and I have stayed many times at the Thompson House and have always loved the rooms, meals, activities and service provided. This year we bought our 9 year old grandson, Kody. We played tennis, bocche ball, shuffle board, hill billy golf, lawn dice, races, movies, and plenty of swimming. We went to Cooperstown hall of fame, and took a boat ride on the lake, we also went to the largest Kaleidoscope in the world in the town of Phonicia, and also went to the village of woodstock.

My golf organization has been coming to the Thomson House in early June for many years.

The familly and staff are wonderful. The hotel consists of several buildings; the Evergreen is probably top of the line, but rooms in The Pines & the main building are also very nice.

Great for a golf outing or a quiet family get-away. Besides pool & golf there are other amenities on site, and local entertainment in the evenings. Biking, hiking, and antiquing nearby.

With full breakfast & dinner included, its quite a bargain as well.
