“True Service and Charm”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

We entered the B&B with little expectations. We had just stayed in another local B&B and were not impressed. Once at AA, the innkeeper, Mary Anna, gave us a tour and before we knew what it cost, we were ready to pay. The room, with vaulted ceiling, stained glass window trim, large flat screen TV, spacious bathroom and usual hotel amenities was more perfect for us. Then she showed us the dining room and kitchen where we could "help ourselves" to tea, coffee, espresso and cookies at any time of the day. Fresh baked snacks served daily from 4 to 6. Choose from hundreds of DVD's. Enjoy the living room and fireplace. Play chess or other games. Back to the front desk and she handed us a map, highlighting her favorite nearby hikes, including the famous Kaaterskill Falls, historical features on the way and a few lunch options. Out back, they had a fire pit, lit upon request where we later enjoyed smores (with oversized marshmallows). There are lots of things to do in the area, and my sweetheart and I would have been content staying at the AA the whole time. Family owned and operated with a tradition of true hospitality and charm. Even the mugs are handmade. If returning to Windham, we will not bother shopping around for another B&B. Albergo is perfect.

Room Tip: I think we got the last room available and likely the least desired, but it was perfect.

We wanted somewhere we could rely on for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary trip to the U.S. from England, and The Albergo, as ever, did not disappoint. Every time we fly to NY we take the time to come here, as we love having the opportunity to relax in this beautiful area and are always refreshed. The hosts are so friendly, gracious and obliging. They do everything with excellence, and nothing is too much trouble for them. It has been our pleasure to come here since the early 90's, and we have probably stayed in every room. Each one has it's own unique charm and comfort, be it cozy or luxury. We always sleep so well, and leave feeling pampered and blessed.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Millennium Room this trip. Fabulous comfortable 4 poster bed, huge in- room Jacuzz...

Experienced innkeepers and warm hospitality are hallmarks of this lovely inn. We have stayed her twice and do plan to return when we travel to this part of New York. Love the leisurely breakfast in the beautiful dining room and strolling the expansive gardens.

Room Tip: We loved being close to town as we had a room away from the main inn. Next time however we look for...

This was our first visit to the Catskills and to Windham, In Windham we had lots of choice of accommodation. Once inside the front door we knew that however good the other places they could not have been better than Albergo Allegria. Everything was superlative from the attention we received to the wonderful home which was full of genuine charm. The room was beautiful, the facilities lacked nothing: the breakfast was wonderful despite thte fact that we did not understand all the descriptions...maybe a translation of the menu into English english would help dummies like us. Only ONE FAULT which was ours ...we had not allowed ourselves time to stay longer !!!!!! Thank you everyone,

My husband and I have stayed at Albergo Allegria twice now. We recently stayed in the Autumn Room. We really enjoy this inn. The breakfast is excellent, and the staff is very nice and helpful. I particularly like that they have a pantry so that you can get coffee, tea, other beverages and a small snack whenever you want. Please be aware that the floor in the Autumn Room is not level so the bed slopes down on one side. Also, we found this room to be very warm, even though we had the heat off and the windows cracked at night. This is a very nice place to stay and be near the town of Windham and the ski resort, as well as being close to other things in The Catskills.

This was our last night of a three week travelling holiday and we were pretty jaded but as soon as we were shown our room in the sperate building to the main house we felt delighted. The bed was huge, there was a lovely big TV, a scrummy large jacuzzi complete with candles and a lovely front personal porch. I only wished we stayed two nights. sad to leave to go to the airport. lovely in every way you could help yourself to cold drinks in the main kitchen - which showed they had nothing to hide in there- and we had a fab breakfast. the only minor point was that the iron was scorched- didnt fancy using it in case it damaged my clothes. highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I rang up late in the e evening looking for accommodations for a last minute trip to the Catskills. From the moment the innkeeper answered the phone, they made everything super easy and comfortable. We arrived late and tired to a delightful room: spacious, clean and charming. Hardwood floors throughout the building. Comfortable beds and sheets, even nice toiletries! The hosts were all very hospitable and relaxed and we felt very much at ease. Great value in a peaceful setting, but still very near town (try the Greek/Neapolitan pizzeria in Windham). Lovely views of the mountains surrounding the town. Highly recommended. Thanks for a great stay!
