Two years ago we stumbled upon The Copper Kettle trying to find an inexpensive option for a ski weekend at Windham. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and easily accessible to the mountain. They consistently have a wide variety of bottled and draft beers, a generous spread of cold breakfast items and have started serving the most delicious Buffalo wings I've ever had!

Over the last two years we've stayed at The Copper Kettle more than a dozen times, spending our winters skiing and our summers hiking and visiting the charming nearby towns. Don, a licensed guide, takes my husband hunting for turkey and pheasant and is the best fly fishing outfitter in the Caskills.

Can't wait for our next trip back!

The Copper Kettle definitely surpassed all expectations. I stayed there for two nights and three days with my girlfriend in August 2013, and we fell in love with the place. The owners are so sweet and helpful, and both go out of their way to help you get where you need to go or do what you want to do. The room was incredibly clean and cute. We asked for a mini fridge before arrival, and the owners promptly had one waiting for us in the room. The bed was incredibly comfy (though a bit squeaky when entering and leaving it), the blanket was warm and comfy, and the sheets were very clean. We paid $90 per night, which is a great value for the area. The hotel is only a 2 minute drive from all the restaurants and shops at Windham. The main lodge was very handsome as well, and perfectly fit the profile of a gorgeous mountain lodge. All in all, you get great value, amazing and caring owners, perfect location, and comfy and clean lodgings. Can't ask for much more, and we are definitely coming back in the winter to ski Windham.

The GOOD:

- Everything is Ultra-Clean/Immaculate, from the rooms/bathrooms to the outdoor pool (I want to use the people who clean Copper Kettle to clean my home!)
- Well-fun, family business (the owners, Lisa & Don, are so nice, and so helpful)
- Super-convenient location to the Mountain & the town of Windham
- Mini-Fridges are provided
- Continental Breakfast provided on weekends, but see below re: coffee
- Quiet & Peaceful (even on Warrior Dash Weekend!)

The BAD:

- Very uncomfortable beds (I was in #3 - the most comfortable one was like sleeping on a board, and the other bed went concave in the middle)
- The coffee provided during the continental breakfast is not good at all
- Too few cable channels

Lisa & Don, please invest in new beds & better coffee!

I love the quaint beauty of this area. The property is nice and the rooms are professionally clean, with a cozy home-like feel. I travelled on a monday so this town was mostly quiet and the other two motels I looked at were downright rude. Lisa was kind and courteous and allowed my dog to stay in the room without a hassle. I really enjoyed the stay here.

this place is owned by nice people. it's a lovely place, but you go there to sleep and that part is agony. they put a lot of effort into the decor, but made a poor decision about the beds. they also don't make much effort with the breakfast and forgot to clean my room.

We stayed at the Copper Kettle over Memorial Day weekend, renting the house on the property. While the weather wasn't as nice as we had hoped, everything else about the trip exceeded our expectations. The house is well-appointed with everything you would need, from a washer and dryer and dishwasher to pots, pans, utensils, bath towels, even shampoo. The lodge is spacious but has a cozy feel, and it's equipped with a pool table, darts, books, and a bar with a great selection of beer and wine. The proprietors, Don and Lisa, are super friendly and accommodating, and as an added bonus, their dogs are awesome.

Everyone in our party agreed that we would easily recommend the Copper Kettle to anyone looking for a nice getaway, and we're hoping to make our trip there an annual event.
