“Wolves are fascinating!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2012

There is something very special about taking a walk through the woods with two wolves, on leashes, while listening to a talk about how they live in the wild, about their interactions with moose and the cause and effect of the interactions of the animals. Included was history and considerable wildlife lore. AND, it was never boring!

Then we had time to look at the many raptors and other animals being cared for in large, comfy enclosures. Each has a good reason to be there, some kind of injury which needs tome to heal in a safe place. Some will be released when they are healed but some injuries are so serious the animal will have a forever home at the refuge.

This is not some fancy place. This is a real out-in-the-woods refuge where staff care for each and every resident and are knowledgeable about their needs and their way of life in the wild. They are quick to answer questions about the owls, bald eagle, coyote, bobcats, wolves and whatever other creature is currently resident.

There is no fee asked but donations are what keep the animals fed. Rehabbers do not receive salaries. They are totally dependent on the goodwill of the public. They do this for the love of the animals and spend much of their own funds. They appreciate every donation.

Watch carefully for the address, the driveway is long and dirt but quite safe to drive. There is both a web site and a FB page for this marvelous animal rescue facility.
