We heard a lot of great things from friends about this hotel. We live in the area, so we decided to book a Diamond Package for our 10th Wedding Anniversary. The package included hotel stay in a jacuzzi suite, continental breakfast, and dinner for two at Salvatores restaurant. The restaurant is less than one mile down the road, and owned by the same family as the hotel. There is a complimentary shuttle which will take you to dinner, as well as anywhere else in the area you wish to go. Great idea if you want to have a few drinks, then you don't need a designated driver. Service was excellent at the hotel. We stayed on a Friday night. We were greated immediately upon entry by several smiling and professional staff members. Upon check in, we were delighted to find that the clerk offered us the Sunday night package rate instead of the higher Friday night rate, which saved us over $50 on our package. The hotel grounds are pretty over the top, with a lot of statuary and embellishments. But, the room was very nice. Very large, very clean, and very nice lighting options with dimmer switched and various lamps. The jacuzzi had more than plenty of room for two people, even with my husband being very tall and myself being a curvier lady. The temperature did not go as high as some we have used, but it was perfect for longer soaks in the tub. The shower was also more than roomy for two people, infact you could probably fit six people in there. It has a really neat digital control for water pressure and temperature. The tile in the bathroom was very nicely done with just a little border detail in a neutral color palate, and very clean as well. And, I was very happy to see that the hotel has thought of every last detail to accomodate guests. There were about 10 towels, and six hand towels in our room, both near the jacuzzi and in the shower and sink areas. Plenty for two people. They were big, plush towels as well, like the ones you'd see in a 4 or 5 star hotel. There were two fridges, one with an honor bar, which had quite a large variety of offerings, and another empty fridge which we used to chill the champage we brought a long. A nice, large writing desk. A 27 inch tv inside and armoir with dvd player. The king size bed was perfectly firm and comfy, and there were plenty of extra pillows as well. I thought that with all the jacuzzis in the bulding it would be a loud place to stay. But, the walls appear to be pretty thick, because we never heard anything from the neighboring rooms. There are complimentary coffee, capuccino, and juice machines on every floor, a nice touch. Breakfast was your standard continental offerings, but in a lovely courtyard setting with bistro style seating. There was a larger than average hotel gym, with ample equipment for those who like to keep fit. They also offer room service and laundry service as well. Dinner was outstanding. The service at Salvatores is excellent, and the food was incredible. Portion sizes were just right, food was hot, and quick to come to the table. Even on a Friday night, with a reservation, they do not keep you waiting. The only thing I found lacking was dessert. I expected a restaurant of that calibre to offer many more traditional Italian sweets. No cannoli or tiramisu, it was a little disappointing. But, the wine was really good, appetizers were great, and the entrees were delicious. We highly recommend the stuffed combo bread, with sausage and spinach, the steak ala Russel, (tenderloin with mushrooms and great potatoes), the salmon with lobster dill sauce, and the cesar salad were wonderful. At the hotel, they even offer a late checkout of 3pm for $25, for those who want to stay a little longer. I highly recommend getting the Diamond Package, it is a great deal for just a few dollars more that the standard room, and you get a wonderful dinner. A dinner like that without the package deal would have cost us about $95 for two of us, and we saved even more when they gave us the Sunday night rate of $141 for the whole package. I am surprised that they have only rated this hotel a 3 star, I would definitely put this experience into the 4 star hotel category. This is not a family style hotel. This hotel is meant for romance, as is the restaurant, and they do romance very well. Some find the decor a little gaudy, but if you have been to Vegas and enjoyed it there, then you like here as well. Truly a wonderful experience, and we plan to visit again very soon. I highly recommend it for parents with crazy work schedules and kids to chase around who need a little escape....this place will give you back that magical spark!
