We stay here when we visit family in NY, now with a small child. The staff are friendly, polite, accommodating, kind, and go out of their way to make each stay/experience positive. It's clean, modern, and competitively priced. Thank you to the staff who make this place a great hotel.

I was very impressed with the service. Ryan, the Chef, did a phenomenal job and even made us a special dessert from the Netherlands. Our server Melissa looked after us. The staff here is by far the friendliest I have met on my travels!
Thanks again Ryan, Melissa and Steve!

There's really no reason to stay at the Renaissance Westchester unless your organization has booked a conference there, or you need to be close to the White Plains airport. But just in case you are going, here are a few things to know:

1. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. The grounds are nice, but there are no diversions within walking distance.

2. You need diversions, because there's not much to do at the hotel (small pool, small gym).

3. The registration and conference facilities are in one building, and the rooms are in another. To get to the rooms requires a long walk across an enclosed bridge. So the property is definitely not friendly for anyone with mobility issues.

4. The restaurant/bar is a small open area right behind the reception desk. There's no real restaurant, and the menu selection at dinner was very limitied.

5. If you want to watch TV, good luck. There's no channel guide in the rooms, and, in my case, the TV kept losing the signal.

6. The interior 70s retro look is attractive enough, although, as others have noted, some upgrades are necessary (loose screwplates in the shower, variable water pressure, etc.).

7. Most rooms face a wooded area, which is pleasant to look into, but makes the rooms dark. Also, my room was so heavily perfumed that I had to open the window (which opens about 3 inches) for the first 24 hours I was there.

All that said, the staff are pleasant, and there could be worse places to break up a trip or attend a short conference.

We booked the Renaissance for our daughters wedding weekend. The hotel was great. Ronelle Carter helped us with our arrangements for rooms, bridal suite and suite for after party and breakfast.worked the breakfast.
Sunday we had a breakfast for all our guests that stayed at hotel. Joan and Emilio set up, made sure there was enough food on buffet, added place setting for people as they arrived and others left. They are amazing and I highly recommend using the Renaissance for your party needs. Everyone at hotel could not be more helpful.

Thank you for all of your help and making our weekend ezra special

We stayed overnight at the Renaissance to break up a car trip from Cape Cod back to Philly. We pulled in late and had a little difficulty finding the main building, I didn’t think the signage was great, but that could have been a function of the hours of driving. The hotel itself is pretty impressive there is a main building with the bar, possibly some guest rooms, and a separate building with others. We stayed in the separate building. The check-in process went quickly and we were on our way to the room in moments.

They were doing some minor renovations on the entrance to the guest building so I’m not sure what you’ll find but the interior was fantastic. Very fresh and modern with a very new feel. They may have recently undergone a renovation. The room was in just the same shape, very trendy furnishings, in great repair, and everything was really clean. Honestly, the only slightly out of place element in the whole stay was the floor to the shower. It looked like the only place in the entire room that they might have left from its previous incarnation. While everything else looked fresh and new it was a bit dingy and worn looking.

We had an infant with us so we like to keep things dark and quiet. Quiet was not a problem and they had wonderful blackout curtains so there was no light from the outside. Unfortunately, there wasn't much we could do about the light from the bathroom. There are a number of lights around the mirror which give off a wonderful amount of light, however there was no dimmer or low option so whenever you turned them on it brightened the entire room. It would have been fantastic if we were getting ready for a night out but we would have appreciated a lower setting.
We were on the club floor but only stopped in for a quick bite before getting on the road. The staff was really friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we could want to take with us. The hotel itself is set back in the forest so there are a number of trails and paths that you can explore and its exterior is very attractive. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

Room Tip: All the rooms are pretty quiet as the hotel is set well of the major roads.

I stayed at the Renaissance Westchester Hotel (RW) for a corporate leadership meeting. We had a three day / two night event for approximately 70 people with all meals on premise (only off-premise event was a social activity on one afternoon). I used to run meetings of similar size in a prior role at another firm, and found the RW to offer a pretty high quality meeting experience.

WHY YOU MIGHT LIKE THE RENAISSANCE WESTCHESTER
1. Comfortable, updated rooms. Rooms had a comfortable bed, the requisite choice of pillows, a comfy chair, and ample working space. I had a standard king room that was an average size. Bathrooms were updated: very modern shower and vanity. Aveda products, no shower gel. Rooms were quiet, temperature control was highly functional and you can open the windows a bit.
2. Concierge Lounge. I only visited the lounge in the morning and was granted complimentary access due to Marriott Gold status. The breakfast buffet was rather expansive. Oatmeal, fruit, eggs, breakfast meat, two types of yogurt and more. Open access to water, juice and soft drinks. The lounge does not seat many people so at peak times the lounge will feel cramped.
3. Front Desk and Banquet Staff. Very warm and welcoming. I was welcomed enthusiatically by the front desk person, even before I gave her my Marriott Rewards number. She happily gave me lounge access, asked me about my home town, etc. Banquet staff was extremely accomodating to our CEO and other senior leaders who wanted to hang out late in the evening.
4. Bar. Nice choice of beer on tap, wide selection of liquor. Lots of seating, and it's comfortable to hang out there.
5. Meeting space. Ballroom is big with nice, high ceilings. Our group had 9 round tables for an award dinner, plus a stage and we were not using two wings of the ballroom. We did not have breakouts so I had no perspective on that element.
6. There is a nice area to have an organized cocktail hour that's half inside and half outdoors.

WHY YOU MIGHT NOT LIKE THE RENAISSANCE WESTCHESTER
A. You need a car to get off campus. The hotel grounds are rather expansive, so you can walk around. But say you want to eat somewhere other than the hotel property. You have to drive.
B. Long walks to rooms. I was in room 679 and it took a good 10 minutes to get to the room and back from the lobby. I believe there are only two elevators. It's a schlep.
C. Not a good place to do serious exercise outdoors. You can go for a run, but you need to run down a pretty steep hill with narrow shoulders, then run on a road that runs parallel to the highway. You have to be a pretty determined runner to get to a safe area. On one morning I just ran around the parking lot. The swimming pool is decent-sized but it is enclosed.
D. Banquet food just ok. It was not bad, but no one raved about the food. Portions at a sit down dinner were small.

I'd recommend this hotel for a corporate event.

Having worked with both Danielle and Ronelle for our reservations for a wedding block of rooms I must say that both women were professional and helpful with our plans. The hotel was remodeled approximately 18 months ago and shows very well. Our guests were comfortable and all of the gift bag and front desk reservations went smoothly. We participated in a post wedding breakfast in the Mansion and everyone was impressed with the facility and choices of food.

Room Tip: if you have mobility issues be sure to request a room near the elevators - the property is very spre...
