We had a Friday night reservation and used a Groupon, which we mentioned when making the reservation and again when we arrived. We were greeted cordially and seated by the bar area, near the ladies' room entrance. Wondering if that was a hint of things to come, we were pleasantly surprised. Our servers were cordial and attentive. We were also pleasantly surprised that there were no menu restrictions with our Groupon (we've experienced restrictions in other restaurants), which included 2 appetizers, 2 entrees and a bottle of house wine. Our servers quickly provided water, a basket of delicious breads, butter, and our chosen bottle of wine (cabernet sauvignon or chardonnay.. we picked the cabernet), as we had decided not to order cocktails this evening. We noted, though, that the bar appeared well stocked and included our favorite brands, and the bartender was actively mixing cocktails. The wine was a Glass Mountain 2011, and while obviously not a top shelf offering, was quite good, and better after breathing a while (will be really good after another year in the bottle). We started with a duck quesadilla appetizer and the spinach and gorgnzola salad, and both dishes were very delicious... lovely start to our meal. My husband ordered the hangar steak entree, which is served over arugula with a balsamic dressing. I chose the fish of the day, a trout somewhat similar to bronzino, served in a flavorful sauce over farrow (like barley) with finely diced vegetables (cauliflower, yellow squash, tomato). I was happy to find that the fish had been deboned, though it was served to look like the whole fish. We enjoyed both of our selections enormously! The ingredients were very fresh and each dish was beautifully seasoned. Service continued to be attentive and helpful, water glasses and wine glasses were kept refilled. For dessert we had espresso and shared the warm chocolate cake with ice cream, which was very good, and just enough after a filling and delicious meal. The restaurant ambiance is very attractive, and we expected from the "hard" surfaces that it would be much noiser than it was. In fact we were able to speak quietly with each other and enjoy our meal comfortably. Without our Groupon, the meal would have cost nearly $150 prior to the tip, so this is not an inexpensive venue.
