“Not the Hotel, just the Beach & Pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

We are enjoying a "deck membership" for the season. Yes, you can get that here. You get Parking, The Pool, The Beach, Towels & a small decent shower / lav / changing room to use for an all inclusive fee which is in keeping with other similar properties in the area.

Add the nicety of a waitress / server circulating & taking drink & food orders at the pool and on the beach make this a delightful place to spend some time at a world class beach.

I enjoyed the overall ambiance & feel of the place and while I can't report on the rooms, at least the exterior is clean and well maintained. Charges for guests that you may want to bring for the day is a bit higher than I would like, but guessing that it's in place to insure that there will be limited & controlled attendance.

Drawback, the pool area closes at 5:PM and given the long additional hours of sunshine, it should be open later.

Location on the beach amazing. That's it. Otherwise it hasn't been updated in probably 40 years. Everything is old dingy and rusty. Locks broken. Bathroom is unbelievably bad- nearly 0 water pressure. Tiny, broken tiles, lights not working.

I would have rather slept in the car

I understand that this is the Hamptons, so the hotels are expensive. However, I was unprepared for the disaster that was the Dune Deck Hotel. They charged $350 per night for a room essentially in the basement. The towels were clearly stained with black crust. The door to the bathroom did not close, so we had to stand at the other side of the room when someone was using it. And, no one came by to clean the room during the day.

On the upside, the beach is nice and they have great service on the beach (bringing you chairs, umbrellas, etc.). The restaurant was surprisingly good as well.

I find this review disturbing on a couple of different accounts. The price is a truth, but the other details of the review are impossible. First of all, we do not have a basement at the Dune Deck Hotel. There are ground floor rooms, which is where this guest most likely stayed, but again they are on the ground floor of the parking lot, not underground.

We are a very clean establishment; the accusation of dirty or stained towels is unheard of here. Our housekeeping team is a hard-working, deligent group of employees that truly take pride in the outcomes of their duties.

That being said, to also accuse our staff of not visiting the rooms on a daily basis is outrageous. Our staff completes daily make-ups for each room every day, and is even so accommodating as to allow a guest to specify a time that works best for them.

In regards to the rooms in general, specifically our Main Standards and Main Premiums, the Dune Deck Owners Corporation invested over $60,000 that included brand new furniture, paint, carpets, and overall decor. To say that a door doesn't close again does not make sense; rooms are thoroughly checked prior to each arrival and we have a maintenence worker available to make any and all improvements or fixtures before the guest can encounter it.

I think the staff was very friendly but I do agree with the other reviews. The pool is only open until 5 which is ridiculous and the sofa beds in our "sweet" we're little and could most definitely use an upgrade. I did have a great time and I think if they put in a little effort into changing some of the furniture and keeping the pool open later and make sure the staff is doing their jobs the place would be amazing. I will be back either way.

We had our wedding and reception at Dune Deck Hotel and Saltwater Grill. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out was wonderful. The staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Joanne and Robbie thank you so much!! The rooms were clean and comfortable. All our guests have raved about it! Food was excellent, tropical flavored dishes! Beach and pool is gorgeous. Such a great extended weekend! Loved it and are looking forward to returning. Thank you so much for making our wedding picture pefect!

This was my second summer staying at the Dune Deck Hotel. After a great stay last summer, my girlfriend and I headed out again. The room we previously had, a very nice Deck Premium out by the pool was already booked up but we were accommodated in a really nice unit out by the dunes. Very private, a little bit smaller but perfect for what we needed.

The beach was just as clean and fresh as we remembered, and the lifeguards super helpful with giving us a hand with chairs. The pool wasn't heated by oil or electric, but still as warm as a bathtub; such a relaxing vibe!

Our night was filled with some great tunes provided by the restaraunt out on the deck as well as some great food and drinks. After dinner and dancing we took a cab up to this beach club called the Drift Inn; a little packed and overpriced, but still a decent time.

The staff was super helpful after checkout. We stuck around and got another whole day at the beach, showered up and headed back to the real world. We hope to get back before the summer's through, but if not we'll certainly be back next year!

If you're looking for beachy, quaint, clean rooms and a relaxed time, the Dune Deck is the way to go. It definitely has it's share of the Hamptons' snobbery trolling around its decks complaining about the sun being too hot or what not, but the staff is courteous, helpful and (most impressively) patient with some of the absurd requests I overheard. Definitely a good spot for a full range of guests, from couples to singles to families.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms seem to be in main building, but nothing is too loud really. I prefer to have the outd...

Nice beach but truly terrible rooms and gross bathrooms, with dingy carpets and a stained pull-out couch, hideously overpriced at over $500 per night. Worst of all, the hotel "building" is basically a wooden shack and you will be able to hear every word spoken in the adjoining rooms. We could not get any sleep due to hard-partying guests in the room next door. Avoid this place at all costs! The beach is nice but the pool is not heated. Some of the staff are friendly but the night-time staff could have not been more unhelpful / unfriendly about our complaints about the all-night partying in the room next door. Even by the Hamptons standards, this hotel is really terrible. Avoid at any cost.

As the property manager of Dune Deck Hotel, I feel this is an unfair review of the services we provided. Upon the first noise complaint, our night shift worker responded to the call and went out to issue a warning. After this initial warning, (without ever mentioning to the staff that there was another disturbance) the unhappy guests decided to take it upon themselves to confront the other guests by banging on their door and threatening them. This forced us to keep our night shift worker up acting as a security guard to monitor these guests' actions out of fear of needing to involve law enforcement. Also, these guests failed to mention that we allowed them to stay and use our facilities for the entire day after check-out as a courtesy.
