“A lovely Stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

I read the other reviews before staying at the Yanchep Inn so i was ready for a rought time but as we were attending a wedding it was our first choice for accommodation.

It was absolutely wonderful!

The wedding was set next to the lake in the park under the shade of some Jarrah trees - Perfect!

The staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious and served in huge portions and the rooms were very clean and tidy (they were fairly basic, but we absolutely loved sitting on the balcony looking at all the kangaroos).

The beer garden was lovely to just sit and relax in (highly recommend the tasting plate!) and the staff even gave us some meat to feed the kookaburras that sit outside the bar.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay during the weekend and we will definately be coming back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the lakeside rooms which seem to be the most modern.

We stayed in the so called new section of the hotel. What a let down, the room was very dated, way overpriced ($225 a night) and it needed a good clean. If this was the new section I'd hate to see the older sections.

Set in one of Western Australia's national parks this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Over priced dated rooms. Food was good and the service was with a smile. Our room was a disabled suite but it was sub class and not suitable, and this was one of the better rooms. Sorry if it wasn't that there were no other motels for miles we would not have parted with our hard earned money. On the plus side there was fresh bottled water in the fridge. The towels were worn and rough. Would be a beautiful place with a massive update!

We stayed over night here on our way to Kalbarri and thought it was just wonderful. It is situated in the Yanchep National Park where we wandered around the lake early the next morning seeing Kookaburras and Kangaroos.
We stayed in the older motels and our room was spacious, clean and comfortable.
We also dined in the restaurant where we had their seafood platter on special and thoroughly enjoyed it - very good value for money.
The whole area is just beautiful, with a number of historic buildings, picnic areas and walks.
The staff were friendly, had a sense of humor and were very helpful.

Room Tip: There is a choice of the older motel rooms or a new block overlooking the lake.

The Yanchep Inn is an old inn within the boundaries of Yanchep National Park, overlooking the lake. Within the old building of the inn itself is a restaurant (the only one within the park), a bar and some dormstyle rooms. Next to the Inn building are some older motel-style rooms and some more luxourious Hotel style rooms (which overlook the lake). The restaurant has good food for a good price.

A special bonus of the hotel are the dozens of kangaroos which graze on the lawns of the hotel near sunset!

My husband and I decided to stay in Yanchep National Park over a long weekend (we wanted a quick getaway). I was not expecting much seeing that we paid only $105 per night, but I was pleasantly surprised.

We booked an older motel room (so not lakeside) and I was expecting something dodgy, but it was very clean and above my expectations. It was dated (which was to be expected) but very comfortable and included air conditioning as well. From the outside, the motel rooms that had a view of the lake looked much newer.

We also ate dinner and breakfast at the inn and enjoyed the food there.

And of course, the national park is beautiful. We opened our door and had 15 roos eating grass outside :) They also had a baby koala in the koala enclosure... so cute!

Very happy, would stay there again.

You don't have much choice if you want to stay in the National Park. Generally I was disappointed both with the accomodation and the attached Inn/Restaurant. Accomodation was basic and not what you would expect of Comfort Inn. The staff in the attached restaurant were not exactly committed to customer service. For example on the table next to me the main course was delivered before the starter, when the customer complained the comment was "Bummer, do you want it afterwards"

It took me twenty minutes to get the bill, but the place was not that busy, I forced the issue by getting up from my table and walking towards the door. To be honest I could have walked right out, they wouldn't have noticed. They added something I didn't have to my bill as well.
