Recently stayed at Wildwood Valley for 3 nights during a visit to Western Australia that also included a stay at the Sheraton and the Crowne Plaza in Perth. Wildwood Valley was easily my favourite!

Located in Yallingup, which is just a short drive to the Margaret River, it's the perfect location to explore the fantastic wineries in the region (the drive between Wildwood to the Margaret River is lined with first class wineries).

We stayed in the queen room with private bathroom. Everything was extremely comfortable and the place was spotless. The breakfasts were amazing - fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, several kinds of cereal, toast, fruit juices, coffee, and your choice of bacon and eggs, a mushroom-cheese-ham omlette, or a tomato and avocado toastie. The hosts, Sioban and Carlo, are great cooks (and very friendly), and the dinner they prepared for us one night was delicious. I highly recommend staying in for dinner one night with a nice bottle of wine out on the deck!

All in all, a great stay. Next time I go to the Margaret River, I would definitely try to stay here again.

  • Liked — The setting, the location and the breakfasts!
  • Disliked — Can hear some noise from the other people staying there (but isn't that the case at all B&B's/motels/hotels?)

We can't say enough good things about the hosts, Siobhan and Carlo. They were great hosts and wonderful chefs. Siobhan grew up in the area and was very helpful in providing valuable suggestions on how to prioritize our activities given the multitude of things to do in the area and our limited schedule (we stayed 2 nights). We liked the location as it was not as far from Perth as Margaret River and could be reached within a reasonable time after work on Friday, but still conveniently located for access to the wineries, Margaret River, and Augusta. The property is very large with beautiful views of the rolling hills and the ocean in the distance. There is a nice gazebo and deck outside the house where you can have tea/read/watch the sunset. And the general sitting area downstairs has a huge fireplace and is a comfortable place to relax in the evenings. Breakfast was superb, the best we had in our 2 weeks in Australia. At our request Siobhan recommended one of the local wineries for dinner, it too was one of the best meals we had in WA. We did not see any kangaroos on the property although all the other guests at breakfast said that they saw "heaps and heaps" of them. We did see some on the way back from dinner - apparently the general area is a favorite 'roo hangout, so you're bound to see them even if they don't come up to the house. The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean, we had a little balcony outside our room where we could relax and enjoy the solitude. we had requested an extra rollaway bed, and as Siobhan promised on the phone, it was indeed very comfortable and not at all squishy or back-breaking. We would definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area.

We stayed at the Wildwood in Yallinup and it surpasssed our expectations on all accounts. The amazing landscape and views with wild kangaroos about, to the welcoming owners whom gave great tourist advise, to their international chef standards, and wonderful accomadation.

Stayed 3 nights in Wildwood Valley and am dying to go back. Lovely and quiet, comfortable and with such great people. Just to look out and see the kangaroos in the paddocks is heavenly. The weather was wonderful, the night skies unsurpassed, pristine beaches, lovely restaurants and loads to do, who needs anything more? Very highly recommended
