We stay here every year and it's great.
The apartments have wonderful views of a fantastic coastline, and two minutes walk (if you're slow) takes you onto clean, fine, white sand. Another minute and you're in crystal clear blue water. The beach has waves to the north and a sheltered calm section to the south, near the rocks. If you're staying here the daytrippers are gone by mid afternoon and you can be sharing a kilometre of perfect beach with a handful of people.
The apartments are self catering but well equipped and it's only a 15 minute drive to the supermarket in Dunsborough. In the late afternoon you can take a small detour (inland, off Biddle Road and Sheoak) to get some delicious fresh baked Yallingup Bakery bread, and there's a choice of wineries within 10 minutes. The nearby resort has a shop and cafe too, but these were closed during last summer, apparently temporarily.
The rooms are not serviced but you can get fresh towels or linen by asking, and the front desk staff are always helpful. The accommodation is a little dated, but they're tasteful, spacious and light and comfortable and this time ours had been recently repainted, and had a new stove and TV. There's no air conditioning, but the fans and sea breeze are usually enough, even in peak summer. The place is protected from the prevailing wind by the hill behind it.
Facilities provided are minimal (communal barbecues and outdoor showers and that's about it) but that's all you need. Swim, snorkel, fish, surf, scenic walks on your doorstep. A short drive to wineries, restaurants, top class surf beaches and much more. Kangaroos graze the grass once the sun starts to set, and Splendid Blue Wrens inhabit the hedges.
Rooms at the front (Apartments 2 to 8) have the best views, but they're 2 and 3 bedroom places...
