“Lovely Chalet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

We stayed at Yallingup For 3 nights at the beginning of October. The chalet was well furnished and equiped. We were over from the UK visiting family so this was somewhere totally different for us, never had possums running over the roof before! I would recommend the resort as a great place for families. We only had one quibble, we were in high number chalet and when we wanted to use the BBQ's we had to take the car as they were situated down the other end of the site. It would really be a help to have another couple of BBQ areas further up the site or individual BBQ's at each chalet. That said we would love to go back one day.

Room Tip: Go for lower number chalets.

Waking up in the morning, walking out on the verandah in the treetops, with the breeze and the wildlife your only company, truly a piece of heaven.
Fantastic, fully equipped, spacious chalets with more than you could ever need. We felt at home and at peace as soon as we walked in. If you're there make sure you check out the Bush Shack Brewery, great beer, great people, great atmosphere. We loved it and didn't want to leave, will definitely be returning, thank you for a wonderful time, Nick and Mandy.

Spacious (well sized open plan living area and huge master bedroom), clean, well-appointed chalets surrounded by woods and wildlife. Very peaceful, and very reasonable at $165 per night in late October.

The only reason I am not giving this a 5 rating is that there is little sound insulation with the adjacent chalet (chalets are semi-detached). Wasn't that much of a big deal, but we had quiet-ish neighbours, and we made an effort ourselves not be noisy late in the evening.

That's my only quibble - apart from that, we had an excellent 4 days. Would definitely consider booking again next time we're down near Dunsborough.

Stayed there for 4 nights, really nice spot, very relaxing, lovely chalet and lovely surrounds.
The hosts, Cathy and James, were very friendly and helpful.
Great location, the very close Smiths beach is one of the most beautiful around, easy to visit most other areas in the region and just a walk to the brewery down the hill. a1!!

Chalets were simple but nice - quiet, clean and comfortable. Built as duplexes (eg 5A/5B) with adjoining walls. Beautiful bush setting with plenty of wildlife to keep our girls fascinated. We didn't stay much at the resort, we mostly returned to it at the end of the day. But we enjoyed the brewery and its wares as the girls explored the playground. Chalets are progressively further from reception, playground and entry point, which was a tricky walk with hills - if you have small children, request a low-numbered chalet, otherwise bring bikes! Would definitely consider returning, location ideal base for exploring SW.

Room Tip: Higher numbered chalets are progressively further from reception, playground and entry - a tricky wa...

We arrived to Yallingup after driving through heavy rain to find that the wind had increased and it was much colder than we had expected. Thanks to the Manager we had our lodge changed so that we were further down the hill away from some of the taller trees. It was pleasant to have the heater on when we returned from a quick grocery shop. The cabin was well equipped and close to the tennis court and swimming pool not that we used either. Despite the wild weather we managed to tour each day and spent each night in comfort inside the cabin.

Room Tip: Cabins near the pool/tennis court if you have children.

Our stay was comfortable and it was great to be in the forest. We arrived on a cold night and were thrilled to find the heater on making for a warm entry to the cabin. As to rating, having travelled to many countries, we would rate it as no more than 3.5 for our particular cabin so it did not reach the advertised 4 rating. Enjoyed the stay and staff were friendly.
