“Cave of surprises”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 24, 2013

There is a great Dreamtime story to this cave. Once down inside it is a world of wonder. There is little oxygen right at the bottom but comfortable enough for most people. The guide was a wonderful storyteller and had the children in the group enthralled. Definitely worth a visit.

“Mysterious and beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Stalagmites and stalactites like you've never seen before. Stunningly beautiful, some tiny, others huge and some appeared to have faces and figures carved into them by the action of dripping water. The ever changing lighting effects made the caves into a magical place for children and adults alike. The staff were knowledgable and friendly, willing to answer all questions. I think it would be helpful to have some basic lighting in some areas where the steps are uneven but, other than that, it is an easy passage down and back up again. Very enjoyable.

“Definitely worth the stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

You don't have to do any special tour to enjoy Ngilgi Caves. They included a wide variety of formations, and we happened to go in the morning on a fairly quiet day, so had the place to ourselves for much of the time--an awesome experience. They were still in the midst of transitioning to LED lighting and there was not really any signage, so there's room for improvement there. But the staff were great, obviously love the place and were highly enthusiastic about it. Be prepared for lots of walking up and down stairs. If you are not somewhat fit, you will probably find it a bit challenging. We found the caves a welcome and striking contrast to all the other wining/diniing/gallery-related activities we were doing otherwise.

“beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

The caves were an unexpected treat - beautiful. Wasn't sure what to expect but if you are in the area go and have a look. They have regular tours and its near Caves Hotel, so pop in for lunch while you are in the area.
