“Palm beach foreshore”

A very nice beach front and beach, clean and safe for children, a good foot path and cycleway all along the waterfront from Safety bay to Rockingham

“Australia's most family friendly beach and a good diving beach too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2012

The trees in Churchill Park offer abundant shade, supplemented by the gazebos provided by Rockingham City Council, along with the barbeques. You can bring your own picnics, cook your own, get fast foods or choose from a variety of restaurants. It offers a great choice. There are no waves so ideal for small children and also divers ( rubber fetishists with a penchant for holding parties under water ). Palm Beach has won several awards as one of Perth Best Beaches in recent years. It is now accessible by train from Perth with a free bus link to the beach from Rockingham train station. One of the reasons Palm Beach is not widely on the tourist map is that there aren't many places to park tourist buses, so they go to Margaret River, Mandurah and bypass Rockingham before heading to Coral Bay, Monkey Mia, Broome etc.

Compare Palm Beach with Broome where there is no shade so you have to use the high price cafes and bars, and strong surf not so good for the littlies, yet Broome is supposedly among the top 5 beaches in the world...

“Great Family Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2012

The only north facing beach in Perth- because of the bay. The whole beach along here is safe and you will see dolphins and whales in winter. Good cafes and lots of seating for BYO picnics.
