“Perfect for snorkeling!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

We tried out a number of the Cape Range National Park snorkeling spots before visiting Turquoise Bay following advice from a local that the beach had been "ruined" by excessive crowds. This is not the case at all. While I appreciate that the beach is a lot busier than in past years, we found it to be a perfect and beautiful snorkellng beach. It is easy to walk away from the crowds, and there is room enough for everyone, even during the school holidays.
The sand is a pristine white, the water the most beautiful turquoise blue, and the water temperature is perfect and warm. The corals are good, but the aquatic life is plentiful and beautiful. The Drift Snorkel is excellent, with the provision that one gets out before the point, when the current becomes strong. This is well sign posted form the beach and car park.
Parking is good, there are "bush" toilets, but the beach is hot and without shade, and so it would be helpful to bring a sunshade. Travel with sunscreen, water and food, as there are few opportunities to buy anything once you are within the National Park. The Visitors Centre does stock a few drinks, ice creams and snacks.
Turquoise Bay is now my number 1 beach in Australia!

“nice snorkeling site”

Great place. Beware of the currents. Can do with a lifesaver. And with people who don't try to touch the turtles and scare them away!

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2014

The beach was lovely and the water so warm. It was great to just sit and enjoy the fish swimming around you. The only downside were that it was very crowded and parking was hard to find
