“Can't wait to stay again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

Have driven past this place on a previous trip and thought it looked nice and probably would be very expensive, but I am happy to say I was wrong. What a lovely place! Their facilities are clean and tidy and well maintained, great for the family and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I think the prices are reasonable for whatever accommodation you are staying in. Their location is close enough to drive to town for supplies or retail therapy and great access to all that is available to see and do. Already thinking about our next visit but this time staying longer.

Thank you, its nice to hear that you enjoyed your time with us.
Your right, expensive we are not. We have been told that our cabins are very reasonably priced and our site prices are too.
We do attempt to cater for everyone, especially families and have the cheapest children/extra rate in town.
A 15 minutes drive in the country is easily equivalent to 45 minutes in the city so yes we are close to town, thank you for pointing that out. So many people think 17klm from town takes forever but are not recognizing where they are.
Glad to hear you will be returning to visit us again.

i loved this place. booked a llookout chalet and wasnt disappointed. it's very basic inside but the balcony is massive with a bbq and sun lounges and sitting out there could see over 5 whales at any one time. i will definantly return and definantly stay here again. LOVED IT.

little convenience store on site whichis convenient. staff helfpul.

its positioned at perfect location with access to the national park and turquiose bay etc. much better than staying in exmouth town itself. 5 minute drive to the lighthouse which is great for spotting the whales (however you actually dont even need to leave the room to do that)

Room Tip: book the lookout chalet!

Thank you very much for your review of us and pointing out there's no need to leave your room to see the whales.
What a sight those whales are to see, especially if your also enjoying a cold beer or a red on the balcony. They can be seen morning or afternoon during their migration along our beautiful coast line from late July through December and we believe no better place to see them from.
This is the sole reason the Lookout chalets were build in their current location, to see the whales !!
Stoked we could help you enjoy your downtime hopefully seeing you again.

We had a great week here. The park is shady and the facilities are good. The bathrooms and other amenities were extremely clean and functional. We stayed in our own caravans and were impressed with the size of the sites, as we have a large van. There are a variety of sized sites along with the cabins, chalets and the villas, which have a sublime view.

The park is the only one close to the beach making the days that little bit cooler with a sea breeze. There are some interesting flora and the birds, especially the regular visiting emu are interesting to watch. The provided map of the area, including the track to the lighthouse is very useful. We heard stories about and saw a couple of 'freeloaders' (thankfully challenged by staff) what a shame this happens when the business here is providing a good service at a reasonable rate, in a remote area.

This caravan park has a relaxed environment where everyone can enjoy themselves from couples, friends and families. The pools are good and the area clean. An all round very pleasant experience away from the town.

Room Tip: Book ahead, explain the size of van etc.

Thank you, your kind review is so welcome. Its great to hear that your expectations were met. We believe that we are the shadiest park in the area with reasonable sized van and camping sites and you have helped confirm that.

Our housekeepers do an wonderful and most times a thankless task in ensuring our amenities are kept clean and fresh for all to use in a difficult and remote environment.
Yes I do agree it is a shame that utilities need to be locked but that's the world we now all live in.

That sea breeze is a godsend particularity during summer when 45 is a normal day.
Did you know that the Cape is home to over 100 species of bird life and approx 60 visiting species so you will see all sorts of bird life here.

We hope that you may return as I know that you have not seen it all.

Having stayed in all Caravan Parks in Exmouth over the past 25 years or so apart from beach camping on Ningaloo Station the Lighthouse Caravan Park is our place to stay, friendly, clean, value for money and the best location around, close to it all and away from the ridiculous overpriced bedlam that is the town itself, (glad the bakery doesn't have accommodation...) Yes it can get crowded (try Coral Bay for crowded) but like most destinations with a limited visiting period and great attractions it is getting loved to death especially over school holidays etc..
Close to an excellent beach, fantastic sunsets and sunrises, whale watching and turtles, oh and good surf.
About the only negative is the sometimes rampant misuse of facilities by itinerant travelers who sneak in or unfortunately vandalise the property when they illegally camp nearby, we have found ourselves having to lock everything lately, bit sad when you catch someone trying to untie your surfboard in the town carpark....in all locations, times have changed.

Wow, 25 years traveling into our beautiful location and still coming back. Just proves that there is so much to see. Thank you for your review it's nice to hear from someone who is still captivated by our unique area.

As mention prior it does get busy here during certain times of the year as our peak time is so constricted to a small period. IE: School holidays, so yes we are getting loved to death at times.
Thank you for pointing out our location to most of the best parts of this coast line, we are really so close to it all.
Unfortunately an increase in visitors brings unsavory characters but we try our best to let everyone else enjoy their time here.

i have always considered "THE LIGHTHOUSE" my little bit of paradise in Exmouth .a family business with great staff and a friendly crowd to mix with at "beer-o-clock". Close to the beach - nearby to the boat ramps and the national park and just far enough out of town to be out of the hussle and bussle - in the warmer weather there is always a bit of a breeze to you cool down with plenty of shady trees to sit under- well done THE LIGHTHOUSE ---lesley and big john daines

The caravan park is great I have now stayed in all of the accommodation options and they are all excellent. The staff are friendly and welcoming and this is a great spot to base yourself ready to explore the fantastic Ningaloo Reef and Cape range national parks.

Room Tip: Go for a look out Chalet the views are breath taking,.,.,

Good to have you back again.
With different accommodation options from Cabins, Bungalows, Lighthouse and the Lookout Chalest with 180 degree views of the ocean, powered and un-powered sites there is always a spot within everyone's budget.
Being only 25 km from the Cape Range National Park and only 100 meters from the beach it is a great place to call home whilst visiting Exmouth.
With two boat ramps close by its easy to be one of the first out there.
You obviously enjoyed you stay and thanks for the photos, hope you can return next year.

We stayed slap bang in the middle of the school holidays in July and so wasn't surprised to find the place jam packed. This was fine though as everyone was in a great holiday mood and it was great to be part of it. Was amazing to meet so many people from not only different parts of Australia, but different parts of the world as well!

Our non powered site was in a great spot on a higher level than the power sites. We had a great view and enjoyed a decent size site which made up for the longer walk to the toilet block. While the toilet block only had three showers and toilets for each sex in the main section, it's only expected that we had to wait on the rare occasion.

The park has a restaurant, fuel and gas re-fill. The staff are very helpful will local knowledge too.

It's a clean large park in an excellent location close to the beach and away from the town centre.

We'll be back.

Room Tip: A non powered site here is of a good size, cheaper than a powered site and in a better location. If...

Awesome news to hear you enjoyed what the region and the Lighthouse Caravan Park has to offer. We thank you for your honest comments.
July school holidays can be a little hectic with so large a volume of people visiting the area but you can always find a secluded beach to enjoy the sun. It’s amazing to find so many people from so many parts of the worlds all enjoying a different experience.
We are so fortunate to be the only Caravan Park virtually on the beach.
Hope to see you back.
