To be quite honest I wasn't expecting too much when I arranged this accommodation for a 1 night stay whilst we were visiting the Wildflowers in the region. There's not much of a choice when it comes to accommodation in Dongara.
Booking directly through the hotel was quick and convenient, all sorted in an email. The Priory is a little out of town, no more than a 5 minute stroll and you're in the heart of Dongara.
The accommodation is pretty basic and far from luxurious, but you realise that when you book and at $120 per night is a fair price in Australian Standards. I expected the bed to be rock hard, I was wrong, it was surprisingly comfortable. There's a flat screen tv, ensuite with shower and coffee and tea is available in the room.
We had dinner in the bar and although my chicken parma wasn't the best (who puts bbq sauce on a chicken Parma?) my wife's fish of the day was amazing!!! Damn hate food envy!!! There's a great selection of beers on tap and bottled. The hospitality is some of the best country hospitality and warmth that I have experienced here in Australia. Many thanks go to all those people who made us feel so welcome. We had an amazing night in the bar watching the footy and throwing banter back and forth.
Overall not such a bad stay, would certainly stay again if I was visiting Dongara.
