My husband and I ate here when overnighting in Castlemaine. It was relatively quiet (a Tuesday), but warm and cosy, with a fire roaring away at one end of the restaurant. Decor is modern bistro, with professional but friendly staff. We had a couple of drinks at the bar (an excellent red wine recommended by the barman), and then sat down at our table a few feet away. I had the vegetarian risotto, my husband had the steak, with sides of vegetables and amazing chips. We shared a fabulous dessert, had more wine and rolled out into the cold night, feeling very pleased with ourselves. I am really looking forward to going back.
