After the monuments and museums of Paris, our teens were ready for some down time and some fun at Europa Park. The Hotel Bell Rock was the perfect place for us. We chose it because we are from New England and wanted to see how well it was themed. We were not disappointed.
We were booked into one of the themed suites: Latin America. Our suite had a nicely appointed living room area with a set of bunk beds. I was worried as I had seen some boat themed bunks in the pictures and knew my 6 foot 2 inch son would not fit in those. These themed suites however have full sized bunks so no worries. The kids slept in that room which has its own television as well and a bath with a toilet and sink. The other room is a master bedroom with king bed, wardrobe and second bath containing tub, shower and sink. We were a little disappointed not to have a second toilet, but all worked out fine. The air conditioning and wifi worked superbly, which isn't always the case in the hotels we've chosen in Europe.
The pool is pretty standard, but does have the added swim-in, swim-out from the outdoor to the indoor area. The shower in the pool area is awesome and my husband and son both enjoyed showering down there.
The breakfast buffet which was included in our rate was outstanding. There are so many choices and you can really fill up on a good solid breakfast before hitting the park for the day.
We did have the dinner buffet one evening to try it. It was very good, but we found it very expensive. The Mongolian barbecue was fun, but stand back while they cook. My son, husband and I all got splattered while watching them cook our meals and it was not easy to get the many dots of sauces out of our clothes.
My husband and I also had lunch there on our last day and again we found it expensive and if we weren't so tired, would have walked into the park for a less expensive meal. Sandwiches with fries ran about 20 euros. The salad was a good deal however as you got so much.
The staff at the hotel were very accommodating, from the front desk staff, to the bellmen to the restaurant staff. There are so many people cleaning around the hotel at all times. It was spotless. They also allowed us an extra hour to check out on our final day as the kids really wanted to get a few more rides in at the park before we left.
The last day we were there they were setting up for a huge event to celebrate the one year anniversary of this hotel. There was a lot going on and we enjoyed watching them prepare for the big party. The Providence Water Fire show at the hotel was cute, but there were also live musicians playing at dinner who had to stop every 15 minutes while the Water Fire show played on the lake.
If we ever return to Europa Park (and we would love to), we would absolutely stay here again. It was a top notch experience from start to finish.
