“Friendly, comfortable and well located”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

The rooms (only 4) are basic but comfortable and clean and I slept well on the 3 nights visit for a local wedding, possibly aided by a glass or two of vin rouge, to be awoken by birdsong. The owner is a charming chinese woman called Liang and she was more than happy to help with directions, advice etc as well as to provide a simple but nourishing breakfast each morning at any time to suit us (she speaks good english too). Parking is a little tricky (2 hour maximum meters nearby) but you can park for free within a 5 minute walk. All in all a quite acceptable and affordable (by Saint Emilion standards) place to stay.

Room Tip: There are only 4 and despite reading a previous review about noise from the breakfast room, that was...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

We stayed here for two nights in the first week of May, 2013. The location is excellent. That was about it. There was no service. The breakfast was just so-so. It is located above a wine shop. And the staff is basically running the shop, and none speaks English. The room was large with a loft but lacks furnishing. For example, there was no desk or table to put my laptop, and I had to use the night stand. Wi-Fi is OK and fast enough. My biggest problem was that the floor was poorly soundproofed. Our room was directly above the breakfast room and in the morning I could hear what was going on in the breakfast room below us, making me apprehensive even to use the bathroom or flush the toilet.

For the price we paid I am convinced that there are more competitive lodging available with just as good of a location in town. All parking spaces nearby are metered, but after about 7PM one could park free of charge. You need to move your car by 7AM. There is a stretch of the road down the roundabout that one can park car free of charge on the side of the road, but it is about 5 minutes walking distance from the B&B and you have to be good at parallel parking because it has stone wall on the side and the width was barely wide enough for a compact car. When I park there my compact rental car's wheels were hanging half way out on the curb.
