We have visited this place twice already and it has been a delight both times.

The first time it was in summer and we had dinner outside which is magnificent! The view and scenery are just breathtaking. The second time in september we ate inside in a delightfull room with beautifull art and warm red and yellow touches !

The service was outstanding. Nice, friendly and very professional.
A lovely menucard with a la carte choices and lovely menus.
The dishes were all exceptionally good, really crafty and beautifully prepared and pure works of art.
Lovely tastes, although some may find it a bit experimental, we found every dish to be very delightfull.
The desserts are to die for.
The wine list offers the best selection (what did you expect) of the finest Bordeaux wines France has to offer and the sommelier is very helpfull with these broad choices.

The chef also came to the table and had a little chat with us, which i always find a nice gesture, especially when you pay for an expensive but lavish dinner.

When you order tea, they come around with a chariot filled with herbs and spices to make you a very special brew. Very peculiar. :-)

Too top it all off, the hotel boats some lovely rooms. A really excellent stay. By far the best hotel/restaurant in the neighbourhood. A MUST !!!

One of our best meals in Bordeaux wine country. We were seated close to another group and overheard their conversations ( definitely not europeans but caucasian) and the waiter ask the guests that the chef would present what was in season (Spring), and ask the guest if they had any allergy or food preference, most guests would not be too demanding about their food request. The mistake that these well travel guests made was the main course was of course Pigeon with heads and legs on. To some this may prove digusting but to others thats how food should be presented and not just breast fillets. All the guests claimed the food was excellent even though a few of the guests could not finish their meal and the waiter of course jokingly asked these guest if they were planning to keep the rest of the bird for breakfast. The point i like to make is that you are at a michelin restaurant and the waiter and chef expects honest feedback in order to improve and meet your expectations. We had our own similiar experience with sweet bread when we first ate at another michelin restaurant, without asking what sweet bread was. Later we learn that this was actually made from cow neck gland. On a different note, most Michelin restaurant serves only standard menus and most Michelin restaurant serves an average of 3 hrs hours meal as the food courses are served in a very timely fashion. With that in mind, you will enjoyed your meal. If you are with little children and rush for bed time, my only suggestion is to skip such dining places. Last but not least, you will never find an overcrowded Michelin restaurant and still wonder why the meal takes so long..... That's the way it is, please enjoy.

Unbelievable dinner! My husband and I both had the tasting menu and we were both delighted with the food, wine and service. It's no surprise that this establishment earned 2 Michelin stars. Everything about our dinner was exceptional!

“Overrated and exhausting”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013 via mobile

I have no idea how this restaurant got 2 Michelin stars. It is all show and no substance. This was without a doubt the worst meal I had during a week in France and the meal was an exhausting 3 1/2 hours long. There are no menu choices - just a tasting menu with 7 long courses. They will not tell you what is on the menu and if they bring you something you won't or can't eat (they don't ask about food allergies) then the meal grows longer as they then prepare some type of substitute after you have already waited 20 or 30 minutes for whatever endless course you are on at that point in the meal. My very strong recommendation is stay at the hotel which is great but avoid the restaurant otherwise you will waste an enormous sum of money on a bad meal.

“Just worth it to see the petit four trolley!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

Fantastic setting in a very upscale French dining room with terrific service. The meal however took a long time- 2.5 hours from entree to main. I know the French like dining to be an experience but we had our children with a babysitter in the hotel and we did not want a late night. Thankfully we told them this as otherwise I hate to think how long the meal might of taken. The lovely chef came by to say hello and I was embarressed as I had not been able to eat one of the dishes that had been sent out on the Chef's menu and it was still sat in front of me, plain to see that I had not enjoyed it. However, despite it being a Michelin starred restaurant, there was a lot of food on the degustation menu (often you are just offered a small taste). I would suggest arriving with an appetite. The piece de resistance was the amazing show of the mint infusion tea, an incredible tea cut from the tree right in front of us. The petit four trolley was like something out of a Willy Wonka dream. Home made lollies we took back to the children, marshmallows and an incredible array of sweets and desserts that you took your selection from. A really beautiful extravaganza of someone very creative with a special knack with sugar!
