“Tres Bon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2014

This is a charming, smallish, restaurant in town. If you like simple French food cooked to perfection, served in a relaxed atmosphere but with great charm and friendliness, and the bonus of great prices then this is for you. Pascal is delightful and realising we were Australian chatted about famous Australian sports people, enjoying making us feel comfortable. We enjoyed it so much we went back 3 nights in a row !!!

“LIGHT DINNER WAS ALL WE WANTED. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT WE GOT AND LOVED.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

We thoroughly enjoyed our simple, light dinner at Chai Pascal, a few steps from our accommodation. The owner was charming and efficient, foie gras delicious, local wine very good. Having had a large lunch we wanted something light and simple which is exactly what we received. We loved the relaxed, comfortable setting and especially the fact that the residents were dining alongside of us.

“Great place for local flavors”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2014

This was a great little cafe in the town. The owners were a couple and were very friendly, even with our little one. They brought out a special chair to try and make us feel comfortable.

The food was very local and fresh. Well cooked! I had the veal stew and my husband had the local dish - can't remember the exact name, but lamprey (fish) in red wine. Both were delicious.

The food was not overly expensive either. Would highly recommend this to anyone visiting.

“Simplicity with style and a lot of warmth”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

The restaurant's cosy decor and bustling scene caught our attention as we were looking for a simple lunch on a chilly day before heading for another visits. The plat du jour of lightly stew veal cutlets with pasta and vegetables was just what we need as we were rushing yet need to recharge. It was well made and the bread that comes with it was fresh. There is a good selection of local wines by the glass. The gentleman at the bar counter was very kind to offered us to changed from our bar table to a proper table as it became available a few minutes after we sat down. We chose to remain as we enjoyed watching the different dishes that were being sent to different tables. It would be a fantastic place to have a leisurely drink in later afternoon or a cosy dinner with friends.

“A nice find in pricy Saint-Émilion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 2, 2014

Came for lunch w/out reservations on a referral from an art gallery on Rue de Clocher. Pretty small place but they managed to squeeze us into a table toward the back. We got the cassoulet (meat and white bean casserole), duck confit, and a briquette salad (green salad with warm chèvre on toasts). Cassoulet included a mildly spicy but tasty sausage and potatoes. We all enjoyed our meals. Saint-Émilion is a rich man's tourist trap so we were happy we got the referral to come here. Just down the hill from Auberge de la Commanderie and Maison de la Commanderie.
