“A Great Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

After a less than pleasurable experience the previous evening this was just what we needed. The waiter was casual, friendly, and knowledgeable. The food was not the best we had during our visit but was very good. The atmosphere in the back garden was nice and causal. We would definitely go back again when we are back in the Saint-Emilion area.

“Local feel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

Friendly service and good, but, average food...English with a French accent was what our server boosted about. Appeared to be a local favorite. We appreciated the relaxed atmosphere after a day of driving along back roads. I enjoyed the duck confit and the local wine offerings were very good. By asking our server we got a good wine at a good value.

“Delicious Meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

I was able to get the special treatment at this lovely restaurant. My favorite part of the meal was the crab stuffed tomato, which was a highlight of the trip. I would suggest eating out back to get the feel of St. Emilion.

“An enjoyable meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

We enjoyed our visit. The starter of fois gras was truly outstanding, the best of my trip! The main course was excellent, dessert was fine but the weakest dish of the meal. The winelist has a very good choice at most price levels including some Garagiste wines. The service was a little slow towards the end but was ok throughout - perhaps slightly inpersonal but it is a very busy restaurant.

It is less touristy and better value for money than other nearby restaurants and lively and fun - worth a visit in my opinion.

“Great location, good food and service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

We ate here at a very hot day in the evening, and sitting in the backyard beneath the tree, surrounded by limestonewalls that have been there for ages is great!

Service was very friendly, you can drink excellent wines from the region by the glass and they have a good sense of humor. We ate two starters (because it was so hot, the menu and main dishes are rather heavy, traditional French cuisine), and they were of very good quality, but not cheap.

This is a nice place to eat, it's not a tourist trap, and you are there in the midst of mostly local / French people
