“Shot in the dark”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

We were on our way to Rochester and it was late so we took a shot in the dark and found the Old Erie Restaurant. Does not look like much from the outside but were were surprised by the quality of the food. It is predominately German cuisine and portions are large. We did not order any of the Germain food. We orderd the Quesidias with chicken (Excellent) Chicken Cesar Salad (chicken was great), BBQ half chicken (excellent) and Calf's Liver (OK).

Were were pleased with our shot in the dark and consider this very good food for a Roadhouse Restaurant.

“Very Yummy and a Pleasant Experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

We had lunch at the Old Erie today. The soup of the day was Ham and White Bean - it was delicious! Next the pizza of the day was sausage and mushroom. It came on a beautiful wooded serving tray and had a crisp crust with delicious flavor. My husband had the Pastrami Reuben with red cabbage - yummy!! Then we had the dessert... the best dessert tray around - if you're full take some home - it's worth it!

“Very Disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

We went there last night, believing it was a "nice" place to eat. Unfortunately, our appetizers started it off - we couldn't find one clam in our six clams casino. My dinner was Lobster and Shrimp Scampi over angel hair pasta. The 4 shrimp were overcooked. There was absolutely no Lobster Tail meat in the dish - only 3 or 4 very small pieces that were clearly the claw meat. I thought they were from a crab's claw based on the size. The angel hair pasta had a one-inch chunk stuck together, the diameter of a nickel. But the artichoke, spinach and oven baked tomatos were good.
My husband's medium-rare steak came served very, very rare.
My sister's Scallop and Lobster Macaroni and Cheese was similarly very disappointing.
The only part of the experience greater than expected were the prices at the restaurant compared to their online menu (albeit online with "112012-dinner" in the browser name).
We would not recommend to friends or family!

“Much Disrespect”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

My wife exused herself from a job interview as the person doing the interview started to ask very off color questions....are you married, do you ever do online dating, what do you like to do on the weekends, do you have kids, are you planning on having kids etc....NOTHING about the job. If I recall asking about kids or having kids can be viewed as discrimination! She felt as if she met someone on a blind date! SCUMBAGS! I wish she had recorded the convo so I could take it to another level. If you are looking for a good place to eat in the area I suggest Balloons in Auburn...AMAZING food and great service.

“Lovely evening with dear friends”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

The food at The Old Erie is delicious. The prices may seem a little high but when you take into consideration that this Restraunt is owned and run by a young local family the price just seems to be an investment in a family who has committed to having a business in their hometown. The owners work very hard to make you feel taken care of and welcome. As I said before the food is delicious and the wait staff Attentive also
