We visited Moreno Glacier as part of a wonderful Patagonian tour and experience. We chose not to do the boat tour as we were on the way to Antarctica where we were going to see many glaciers. We found out later that wasn't a bad decision as we met people off the boat who told us the boat was packed and difficult to move about and they said the view from the land was better. Our guide took us to magnificent walkway and we were able to see calving and floating icebergs as well as the ice tunnel formed by the glacier reaching the shoreline then the water creating a tunnel after some weeks. The walkway in itself is a wonderful structure.
Unless you go to Antarctica you won't find a better glacier for visiting conveniently as well as experiencing El Calafate.
