“Great choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Lovely and great place to select. It is close to the sea so you get nice view and hotel guests can enjoy the sea. They have very nice swimming pools and rooms are big enough. Good choice for families with kids as they have connected rooms and suites with large living room. The surrounding area is full of allot of restaurants and Marina mall so too many choices. I have to mention how good is the service and staff are very friendly. I loved their breakfast. It is really amazing. Prices bit expensive for people looking for average cost.

Room Tip: ground floor rooms if you want to use the swimming pools

the place is great. Walking distance to nice restaurants and small mall. Rooms are spacious and well served. The staff are really great. Had a slight problem with airport pickup (which is by the way complimentary) but front desk staff and manager were so nice and professional in their apologies. Rooms have lovely views but might be a bit noisy if overlooking the pool area. I would recommend not to look for another hotel if you're in Kuwait.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for the excellent review of the Marina Hotel Kuwait.

It is gratifying to discover that the close proximity of the hotel to the Marina Crescent and the panoramic view of the Arabian Gulf beach made your stay comfortable and relaxing.

Our team continuously strives to provide excellent service to the guest and we regret the airport pickup inconvenience caused by the team. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

I am honored and appreciate you recommending the hotel to the other guests.

The staff is extremly friendly and ready to accomodate your needs. They went out of their way and switched things around so that I could have a ride to the airport at the hour most convenient to me. They printed my flight ticket and had it ready for me before I departed. They didn't let me carry anything heavy by myself.
Also the view was gorgeous...the room was clean and the food at the buffet downstairs was delicious.
There was one minor hiccup which could have been a problem but it didn't change everything else they did well...the issue was that if the guest staying there is not the same one as the one who paid, and if the one who paid is not present, then they need a Third Party Authorization Form signed by the paying party otherwise they will charge the guest staying even if the room had been pre-paid already by the other person. This can cause a bit of mess if you're on a business trip...in terms of reimbursememt and such...so my suggestion would be that if you are in this situation, ask them from the beginning about that form.
But other than that everything was great.

The hotel is located in Salmiyah beach next to the Marina , also very close to the marina shopping mall and sea front restaurants.
Salmiyah is full of shopping options , dining of all levels and is a very long and well equipped courniche for a very nice stroll of even brisk walk.
The hotel rooms are spacious and got very nicely laid out bathrooms , see view rooms are available and it has a very well equipped gym and health center as well as a nice swimming pool.
The breakfast is served in the atrium and is quite decent , staff are well trained and very pleasant and hospitable.

Room Tip: Get a Sea View room

lovely hotel at the sea side with Excellent location at walking distance from marina mall with a plenty of choice of restaurants and shops,
Staff are extremely welcoming and helpful starting by the doorman passing through the front desk staff, housekeeping, restaurant staff ending with the driver who takes you back to the airport in luxury free ride.
The room was spacious, nicely decorated ( although not the most modern furniture ), cleanliness was up to the high standards and housekeeping service are available 24/7 at short notice.
Also the sofa bed in the room was a great idea so the kids can sleep comfortably.
Really I see this hotel as the best hotel I ever stayed in even among the prestigious brands of intercontinental, ritz Carlton, Marriot or Hilton

We stayed at Marina Hotel (Safir) for six nights, from the 24th of February 2015, which marked Kuwait National (Liberation) Day celebrations. This was a very busy time especially in this area of Kuwait (the Gulf Road) where all the celebrations and the fireworks took place.

This was a very special trip to good ol' Kuwait, which we hadn't seen for 15 years! I wanted it to be an enjoyable one and so I searched quite well on the web (including TripAdvisor) to make sure that I choose the right hotel in terms of location, proximity and room view.

I was really glad I chose Marina Hotel, as it ticked all the boxes for us! The hotel wasn't perfect, but it was pleasant enough to make our stay a memorable one.

Like everything in Kuwait, Marina was very expensive. Perhaps the most expensive hotel out of all the seven hotels we stayed at during our trip (six of which were five-star hotels - pls see my other reviews).

Nonetheless, it scored very high in terms of its location. Right on the Gulf Road, beautiful views of the Gulf, at the door step of a major shopping mall in Kuwait (Marina Mall) and many elegant restaurants and cafes (at Marina Crescent). One can also have a nice stroll along the Gulf Road and the beaches, passing by an endless line of restaurants that serve a variety of international cuisine (that is of course when the weather is nice). Also very close to the hotel is a small harbour where you can take a motor boat or a cruise boat - all within a two-minute walking distance from the hotel.

The room was modern and simple. Furniture seemed a bit worn-out but the bathroom was very good with a separate shower and high quality toiletries. It had the best 'rain shower' I have so far experienced!

We stayed in a standard room. The best aspect of our room (I believe in all rooms in this hotel) was that it had a sea/gulf view and a balcony. This was an aspect we enjoyed much. Just beautiful! It was sad that we had to spend so much time outside the hotel (shopping, catching up with friends etc). I would have really wished to spend more time chilling out in the balcony, enjoying the magnificent quietness, splendid sunset and sunrise views with boats sailing and nothing else!

Staff at Marina Hotel (at all levels) were highly professional and courteous. I do not recall a single mishap or mistake during our six-night stay. They truly went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. I especially recall Candy (at the reservation) whose professionalism and courteousness welcomed us before arriving at Kuwait. I would also like to make mention of the two (male, Egyptian) staff members (sadly, I do not remember their names) who accompanied us to and from the airport in the shuttle car which was offered as complimentary service to hotel guests. It was lovely chatting with them on our way and getting tips and information even before we arrived at the hotel. The staff member who took us from the airport (upon our arrival) waited patiently for quite some time as we finished processing of our visas (processing of visas at Kuwait airport took a lot longer than in all other countries we stopped at). And on our way back, departing Kuwait, another staff member accompanied us all the way to the airline check-in counter to make sure that everything was going well. Amazing!

Indeed, these are the beautiful touches that make one's experience a memorable one.

We only tried Marina's breakfast buffet which was of very good quality. There wasn't a huge variety (in comparison with other hotels) but it was sufficient. They had a station for 'fool' and 'Umm Ali' which was interesting. However, the items were hardly changed during our stay which brought some boredom by the 3rd day of our stay. I would recommend they do some change to their breakfast menu every couple of days or so.

Check-in and check-out were quick and efficient.

It's sad that the hotel did not attract greater occupancy during our stay. I recommend they do some enticing packages (to make the hotel more affordable for non-Kuwaitis). It is unfortunate that the tourism industry in Kuwait caters mostly for Kuwaitis or expats on business trips. Going around the gulf region, we found that Kuwait is lagging way behind in this regard. Much needs to be done to encourage tourism in this country, especially during the beautiful months of October-March where the weather is nice and allows for outdoor activities. One would hardly find vacancy at a hotel such as Marina Kuwait, had it been in any other country.

Thank you, Marina staff, for making our stay a very special one! Maa gassartum :)

Room Tip: All room enjoy the beautiful view of the gulf coast.
