“Could be so much better with just a little effort from the staff!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

I have stayed at this hotel on two other occasions but the attitude and manner of staff really spoiled things for me this time. They are very rude and not interested in being helpful or even polite. To me it seemed this was because I was not israeli which is not good. There is work going on in the hotel and my room was recently refurbished and was really nice. The food in the restaurant was not as good as during my past visits with not such good quality of food offered and not so much choice. The spa area is nice enough and the pool and grounds are fine. There is supposed to be a private beach across the road but it was obvious that anybody entered there. The sun loungers available there are dirty and many broken. I made the mistake of asking the attendant for a sun bed...he was not interested in helping me at all. I am afraid I would not recommend this hotel which is a shame as it used to be really good. The staff really spoiled it for me.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

hotel is situated 5 minutes walk from the Dead Sea, and also has its own "private" beach.  There is a road between the hotel and the beach, but its not busy.
The private beach has a sign saying only for Daniel and Oasis, but no one is checking who goes there as far as I could see.  Doesnt really matter because there's plenty of public beach space anyway.

Hotel seems to be split with a central lobby area and two 4 or 5 storey towers on either side, spa club and Oasis.  We stayed in the Oasis side.  strangely each side has its own restaurant also, in the basement.  We were instructed to use only the restaurant in the Oasis side, although we were curious to see if they were different.  Anyway, the Oasis restaurant was fine, buffet style, good choices and attentive and helpful staff.

Although we were staying in the Oasis side, we were able to use the spa facilities and arrange treatments in the other side, so that was fine.  The only strange thing was that we didnt have access with our room key to the bar area in the spa side.  There was entertainment and people dancing in there one evening, we had to ask for another key to open the door and take a look!

The room was OK, I would say recently renovated, and a couple of signs that the renovation wasnt quite completed, i.e. a little hole in the wall, which I guess was meant to have a wire through it and also a piece of the door trim missing, revealing the screws holding the door hinges in place.
The room's pretty small not much space around the bed to put bags etc, but fine for two nights anyway.  Bathroom wasnt great, the showers completely open so water naturally pooled under the toilet and sink, it drained quite fast but left the floor wet for a couple of hours.  Strange and inconvenient design.

Speaking of renovation, during our stay the whole ground floor of the Oasis side and the rooms on the first floor were being completely replaced.  For me this wasnt a big problem, but I think some people would have found the dust, noise, and groups of construction guys standing around pretty annoying.  Actually we had to walk through the construction site to walk up the stairs, this would not be allowed in some countries due to health and safety etc etc.

Apart from the hotel, we took a really nice day trip to Masada, which is only 15 minutes away by public bus. This is unmissable if you have a spare day or half day.

Thanks, for taking the time and effort to wright such a kind and depth report about the Oasis hotel.
One of the nicest things for a hotel to hear is that our guests enjoyed their stay and the hotel; It is always nice to hear such nice and warm full compliments about our hotel and service.
As you experienced, the hotel is completing its renovations as we speak, and we will be happy to host you back with us in the renewed hotel in the future.

The tv and toilet were broken. For some reason there was a cot in my room so it was hard to move around the room. i asked the staff to remove it but this never happened. No one answers phone at reception desk and the room door lock was broken preventing use of the door card key. Breakfast and the location were good. Free lobby wifi never worked.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review and for your in depth report on our hotel. All comments help us provide the best service and amenities for our guests. That being said, we are sorry that you did not receive the service that you should have. I will forward your review to the staff as they are trained to provide helpful and friendly service. Additionally, your experience with the food is abnormal and will be checked on as well. We hope you will give us another chance next time you are in Dead Sea.

The spa club wing of the hotel is new and apparently quite nice. The other side is awful! The rooms are dated and falling apart, and very small. The beds are uncomfortable, and the breakfast room was dirty and if you came too late you are left with no food and poorly rinsed dishes with food bits still on them.
If you are travelling with any under 16s, they'll automatically put you in the wrong side of the hotel, even if you had paid the higher price as they don't allow under 16s in the spa wing. The staff are extremely rude and unfriendly, and very unhelpful, they don't even look you in the eye when you speak to them!
The evening 'entertainment' was all in Hebrew, but apparently nice for the older Israeli crowd.

Great location on the Dead Sea. You have access to a private beach (although I'm not sure it's policed really). Not enough parking - this was an issue. Fairly impressive dinner with half board. Breakfast was worse. Nice courtyard with hammocks, cushy chairs, etc. Very nice salt water pool, steam room. The actual hotel room, though, was weak. Looks old and worn-out, in need of a make-over. TV was probably 10 years old. Room was dusty, paint coming off walls etc. I still rated this 4 stars, but would have given them 3.5 if I could. They need to get their rooms in order. They only claim 3.5 stars, but their prices are a bit high for this, too. If you get a good price, I would take it.

We stayed at the Spa. Very good, quiet rooms, pleasant spa facilities, free wifi in the lobby, very nice private beach within short walking distance. Free parking. Courteous and helpful staff. The problem is with the food. There is plenty of it but very plain, and the dining room is poorly lit and dismal. So...
