“AVOID AT ALL COSTS”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2013

I can honestly say that this was one of the worst managed hotels that I have ever seen. Although its location across the road from the Dead Sea is good (note there are several hotels including the Crown Plaza that are directly on the beach) it should be avoided at all costs. After waiting 1/2 hour to check in (one person on staff taking 15 minutes per person) we went to our "nonsmoking" room that besides being filthy clearly had been chain smoked in by at least the last visitor. Instead of trying to find us a new room we were told that they were full. We never heard from any manager about the room or the following day when we asked for an extra hour to check out on one of our FOUR rooms despite assurances from the front desk staff. In fact to a person (except for Elvis) the staff was surly and unfriendly and totally incompetent. In addition, this was the only hotel we stayed in Israel that did not have free WIFI, even in the lobby, and the cost was exorbitant to get access. BTW the spa was disgusting.

I booked this hotel on booking.com and chose it due to its facilities and images shown.. I then however read all the reviews on tripadvisor and was dreading my stay!!!! :( We arrived at the hotel mid january for 4 nights and overall it was fairly good. Although we requested a double room, we were put into a room with two single beds.. However this was quickly sorted by the staff. We found all the staff in the hotel friendly apart from the staff at check in ( They seem to hate their job!!!) . It is def not a 5 star hotel..rooms are quite dated but it was clean. The food was average.. but as there are no restaurants at the dead sea we found ourselves eating at the hotel every night. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea which was lovely. The pool area was nice and relaxed also. Not sure I would book this hotel again but it was def not as bad as some of the reviews here make it out to me.

Room Tip: Perhaps ask for a seaview room.

We stayed at the Daniel Hotel in January. Our room was cleaner than our friend's room, which had a carpeted floor so dirty and stained that they actually took some pictures as proof of how bad it was. Our room had a small balcony with two chairs, which had a decent view out over the sea once you got past the cigarette butts under the chairs. Dinner at the buffet was not good; food was lukewarm and not much flavor. When we walked down for breakfast the next morning all the leftover dirty dishes and ashtrays were still sitting out on all the tables in the huge lobby / bar area. The chair I was provided at breakfast had a huge stain of something like hummus across the back so I ended up perched on the font of the chair, and the breakfast buffet was marginal. There has to be better places to stay than this on the Dead Sea.

I loved this hotel. We only stayed two nights but the location was awesome, the food was DELICIOUS, and the view was great! My family thought the bowling ally was really fun. I highly recommend staying at the Daniel. :) :) :) :)

Room Tip: get a good view of the dead sea

We stayed there during the weekend. The hotel looks pretty old and desperately needs to be renovated. The first meal we ate there, on Thursday night, was actually quite good. It was the rest of the meals we had problems with... It could've been consider an average hotel... as a 3-star hotel, definitely not a 5-star one. The price was waaaay too much for that

I stayed only a night but it was enough to rate this hotel. When you look from outside it seems very good one but really terrible. Low quality staff , dirty restaurant and rooms. With all these prices are at top. I can not recommend to anyone

Location is great. Food fine. Beach could do with some tlc. Some areas are very neglected: the games room was filthy and left open for all to see; glass from a large broken window just left on ground etc
