“A Must See Feat of Nature!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 26, 2013

What a dreamy, unbelievable gorgeous feat of nature, coupled with thoughtfully engineered walkways that do not detract from the natural beauty. Don't let the 800 stairs dissuade you from coming. (unless physically unable of course) They are spaced out along a walkway that travels through the gorge, with many spots to stop and catch your breath if necessary. (And it will be necessary, because this place is breath-taking!)

This was an amazing stop. First time here. Yes there are a lot of steps but they are worth everyone. Amazing pictures and views. Definitely would recommend.

“Awesome views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

The Watkins glen gorge was really something to see!!
The only problem is that there is a great deal of climbing required to take in the entire gorge.
There are approximately 800 steps to be climbed. Not all at once but still a lot of climbing. Not for thee with bad knees hips or hearts!

“Unbelievably breath taking”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

Nestled in the middle of the small town of Watkins Glen is the Watkins Glen State Park. It would be easy to drive by and not even know what lies beyond. The park is a a series of the most enchanting and awe inspiring waterfalls viewed from what feels like never ending stone steps. Not for the faint hearted, although many elderly visitors seemed to muster the strength to view this enchanting place. I guess slowly does it and another wonderous "not of this world" surprise awaits you at every turn. Well worth the trip to the Watkins Glen area. Just $8 for parking. Take your time in this beautiful setting and be prepared to take lots of photos of what should probably be a wonder of the world

“Great hike with so many things to see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

This was a beautiful park and our first stop of what became three state park visits! Once you pay for one park, the rest of the parks are free! Watkins Glen SP is just lovely. I thought this park offered a relatively easy hike with mostly paved/stone walkways. There were several waterfalls throughout the park,,,some you walk under, some that just trickle and some that are mini waterfalls (among others). There is also a nice suspension bridge you can walk on that affords great views of the park. Mid to late October is just a lovely month to visit...the weather is perfect for hiking and the fall foliage is at its peak.
