“Beyond awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Breathtaking walk to see the relationship between water and rock over millions of years. Our hard-working laborers and state officials at the beginning of the 20th century created a wonderful gorge walking pathway to see the spender of the waterfalls and rock formations and water carvings for generations to come. 806 steps to the top. Wear waterproof shoes or boots with lots of traction as some of the path gets wet. Total walking up and down or down and up is about 2 miles. Give yourself about 3 hours to see it all at a leisurely pace with resting to view and catch your breath going up.

“Very Unique Gorge”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012

The gorge was very unique and we enjoyed hiking half way up and back. No shuttle the day we were there or we would have hiked the entire 1 1/2 miles up and taken the shuttle back. Very friendly and helpful entrance hut staff. :o)

“Great campground and beautiful scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

We camped at the Watkins Glen State park in october. We were close enough to the gorge and waterfalls to walk to the trails. The Fall colors were beautiful and the wateralls were amazing. The hiking trails were well marked and maintained. The campground was nice, we had electric at our site. The only drawback were the showerhouses. The were only two showerhouses and each only had two shower stalls. They really need to be remodeled and enlarged. We will certainly go back again next year!

“Awsome Geological Wonder”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

Our visit in early October was just in time to catch the fall colors. The gorge is a must not miss place to see. My wife & I (both retired) did the whole climb, but it took us quite a while. We took our time to enjoy and photograph the many fantastic cascading falls. We think this park and Letchworth were the best NY parks we visited that week. Be sure your legs are in good shape. There are a lot of steps to climb. We did cheat though, we took the rim trail back to the parking area. During the summer they have a shuttle, but that sounds too easy.
