“Only French menu and waiter!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2013

We were sent here by hotel and were picked up and returned by van which was nice. The lengthy menu was in French and the waiter would not or could not translate for us so we had to guess what we were ordering. The waiter was arrogant and did not make us feel welcome. Big portions but served all together on a plate that was not attractive. All 6 of us did not enjoy the meal.

“rip off”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2013

Lovely terraced situation and reasonable portions but that's as positive as it gets. The service was arrogant and obnoxious and food very unremarkable and over priced. I have been visiting St Cirq for over 15 years and have watched it's gradual decline from creative, beautiful oasis to commercial tourist trap and this place is indicative of that. We stopped in for coffee as a 2nd chance, found it expensive and realised we had been overcharged, 'accidentally'? AVOID

“Disappointing in Lapopie”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

We were sent there by our hotel after dining at one excellent restaurant after another in the SW/ Dordogne region. This one was a big disappointment. It has a very lengthy menu with every sort of combination though lots of overlap. One comparatively expensive item with truffles did not have many truffles. Then there was a problem of receiving what was ordered though, in fairness, this could be attributed to less-than-perfect French pronunciation of this correspondent. Overall, the food was not impressive. The wine was excellent but needed to breathe a bit as we discovered later with the "leftovers."

“Great place to eat”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

4th visit to this popular restaurant and once again we were not disappointed. Plates are generous and the food is well presented and very tasty. The staff seem to get a lot of stick for being rude, but that is not our experience, as with most places in France an attempt to speak the language is appreciated. We would recommend La Tonnelle and will certainly return.

“Lots of good food and decent quality in a hyper tourist area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

I went there with the family, just picking the place at random around lunch time, before the crowd lands en masse to occupy every square inch. We went for 'salad meals', which were really large plates packed with greenies, fried pataoes, and in our case, duck in all forms and shapes...It was actually very good! A lot too, actually half or 2/3rd of the dish would feed us as well. The service was equally attentive, cordial, fast. Great team work, quality food and a nice setting under the vines crawling over the roof. I recommend the place to anyone who wnats a decent meal on a nice terrace and a a really affordable price. Good local wines too.
PS :visitthe wineshop accross the street. It is a chaming place with friendly personnel.
