“Good value eco lodge and great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2011

We stayed in the lodge for 2 nights. We arrived early evening and checked in by the camp fire with a great view over Kazinga Channel. The tent was comfortable, and the outdoor shower was nice. The food was fantastic, and there's the option of eating by the camp fire which was a very nice touch.
Just a couple of tips:
On the shower... The camp staff asked if we would like to order a warm shower and we all enthusiastically said 'yes hot please'... but considering they add one bucket of hot water into a 100L tub, dont expect it be hot like we did!! It was remotely warm at best!
On the bathroom... The bathrooms next to the dining tent have flushing toilets!
Overall a really cool place to stay for 2 nights.

We spent two separate nights here, and really enjoyed it.. the tents are comfortable, the staff is warm, welcoming and helpful and the food is delicious. We had pouring, pounding rain one night, and there was some leaking in the corners of the tent, and one night we had to wait a long time for hot water for the shower, which wasn't terribly warm, but these are small concerns relative to the great features. The hippo snorting kept me awake the first night, but really, what an interesting way to be kept awake. Less interesting is that noise from other guests late, or workers arriving early can also wake you up, depending on how heavily you sleep and how close your tent is to the center of things.. All in all, though, the ambience and the food outweigh these concerns..

This mid range lodge offers very good value. It´s not too luxurious, but has a good location next to the channel and offers views on the swamp that is regularly visited by herds of elephants, giant forest hogs and all kinds of other animals. An ideal place for nature lovers.
For us the lodge offered a good combination of luxury, value and experiencing nature!
The nicely decorated cottages are at a distance to eachother and offer good privacy.
The staff is very friendly and the food is tasty.
In the afternoon it can get very hot. Don´t try to have an outside shower at that time on the hot stepping stones!

Bush lodge found in queen elizabeth national park is a simple and charming eco lodge. With simple bandas and a dining tent in a lovely location on the kazinga channel this place is a gem. The staff and food are impeccable. Not for someone looking for the luxury experience but this is a top of the range budget lodge and camp site.

Fantastic safari experience in QENP -- perfect for independent travelers. The reasonable price, amazing location, excellent service, and imaginatively designed rooms make it a great option for a safari at QENP. Add in the warm outside shower and the constant soundtrack of hippos, warthogs, and elephants (who often wander into the camp) and you start thinking of this place in the "unmissable" category. Not suitable for people who want a hotel. This is an outdoors place -- albeit a very comfortable one -- so if you want a hotel atmosphere, go to the Mweya safari lodge. Or better still, go to Paris.
