“Almost there - needs a few tweaks but really close”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013

Wanted to go here on Valentine's day to have the beef strongenoff since it's one of my favorite dishes. Restaurant was packed, but I was quickly seated and offered a glass of wine. Took nearly 30 mins for me to cool off as heat inside restaurant was nearly as bad as outside. Would have been exceptional to be offered a cool wet towel to wash hands and face. Really enjoyed the rice and sauce, but the beef turned out to be quite tough. Felt that I should have dessert for the holiday as well and opted for the Speculoos mousse. The dessert was a disappointment - not creamy and light and actually lacking intensity in flavor. However, I truly enjoyed watching the people in the restaurant, felt that my server was very attentive and would have given this restaurant another chance to prove its popularity.

Good staff. Cold drinks Very good food. Very reasonably priced. Would come back to this restaurant when back in Zanzibar as there are more things we would like to try.

“Nice ambience, tasty food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

On Saturday evening of the Busara festival, we got a table for 6 and great food. Lots of people, good atmosphere, nicely decorated, maybe a bit noisy, but otherwise perfect!

“Chocolate mousse to die for....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

I had a lunch of pasta with a sauce of grilled tomatoes and eggplant which was nicely flavoured with garlic, cashew nuts, olive oil and fresh rosemary. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the sauce delicious. What came next however was the real winner - the Belgian chocolate mousse. This was deliciously creamy, made of good quality dark chocolate and topped with more shaved chocolate. This was seriously good - so good I actually ate 3 of them in 2 days! Wicked!

“Nice Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Nice place, good value, fresh ingredients. Chef / owner seemed genuinely interested if we were enjoying his food. My kids can be a bit fussy but we all enjoyed our meals. I think this place may have the best air-conditioning in Zanzibar - we liked it! Main meals were all great but it would be worth going just for the deserts
