“Great coffee”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

Deep in the heart of Stonetown, not far from the Darajani market is this gem....its a little place that goes in deep and serves excellent coffee, tea and other drinks as well as assorted sweets. This is as close as it gets to the best coffee house.....the down side, if there is one, at least for people on a fixed budget is pricing..which is on the high side....not by north american standards, but for here...there are other options that come close and are less expensive...however I would have to rate the ZCH as the best in town.

“Excellent friendly”

Fantastic coffee for the caffeine starved. Great food and cakes and lovely staff highly recommend. We visited a few times both for coffee and cake and for lunch always a pleasure.

“Amazing coffee and solid food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

Great place. Would highly recommend.

We found this on our first day in stone town - deservedly high rating. Highlight was the milky spiced coffee - very well balanced and a great flavour.

Also had their specialty - a fried pastry with feta - absolutely brilliant and would definitely go back for more. A good cafe for an afternoon snack and coffee.

“Oasis in the maze”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

This is my most favourite cafe in Stone Town - cozy & lovely atmosphere and serves great coffee. Crepes are nice too, they have both sweet and savoury. I have tried other cakes as well but the quality varies, sometimes excellent, sometimes so-so. Ladies are all smiling and friendly and unlike so many other Zanzibari cafes & restaurants, their service isn't super slow! In fact, pretty swift (in comparison). Definitely recommended.

“Excellent food and charming ambience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

Two of us had lunch here today and it was so very good, clean and comfortable. In fact, we each had a crepe: vegetable curry and spinach, onion and tomato. They were both really delicious, plentiful but light. In fact, they were the perfect lunch. Together with one fantastic Americano (best so far in either Zanzibar or Tanzania) and one delicious and flavourful lemongrass and ginger tea with lime and honey, we had a lovely lunch. Cost US$18.00 including tip - quite good value for the town.
